Hehe, nice insight if mAhâs was the only decision criterium
As I understand, the discharge curve of the Sanyoâs is more flat. I consider this as an advantage for the SRK. Am I right?
Youâll get more high-brightness time with the Sanyoâs, but less overall run time. Personally, I always use fresh batteries when using it to show off anyways, so prefer to simply have a higher capacity on the batteries. I keep it on low mode hours at a time, so the more time between battery swaps, the better. Itâs all user preference!
As said above if you are showing it off you are prob using full batteries= no diff. On a long usage you arent needing the extra time of absolute of max output probably, you want more run time. Depending on how its driven, it may be 6 hungry LEDs @1.6A (guess), so I guess ask yourself if it has 65min vs 85min of battery, how long are you going to walk, and if longer than 60 min, are going to want to carry and change out 4 batteries in the dark. Remember its unpredictable though because we dont know what the LEDs are driven at, or if it is less efficient, it could be a more significant difference if they are driven better, could be 40 mins or less with the 2600mAhâs.
So tempting even as 6x XML, Iâm finding âreasonsâ to buy more myselfâŚgifts for family and mobile lamps right? But then the reality of âthey need batteries, charger and educationâ creeps in, and I guess Iâll have to keep them all myselfâŚ
I think it may happen later (someone check my logic). With 6 emitters, each is likely driven at lower current than typical 3 emitter versions. At lower current Vf is lower, allowing the cells to be discharged lower.
maybe it was a pricing mistake? like when they had ultrafire m5 for $1.30, after a while they changed to âsold outâ, instead of adjusting the price.
(DX themselves said something about it being an activity for loyal customers to hunt down bargains IIRC)
Probably is a âmistakeâ, though they also probably still dont lose money on it at that price. From what Iâve heard about a year ago, they could sell SRKs for $20 and be OK, so +$5 for 3 old XMLs (maybe T4s or T5s), its still within that range.
