The tiny II AAA has 60 lumens at 210 mA with an R3, so I would expect the AA be in the 130-140 Lumen range on high. They seem to measure emitter amps.

The D25A looks really cool to me as long as we're mentioning Quarks and ZL. The clip and holster really put it near the top of my wishlists, though I'm wanting the D25C version.
The OEM one is a XRE the real Nitecore has an XPG, big difference.
Just pick which you want XRE for throw, XPG for flood.
The OP wanted throw, the XR-E R2 it's with the EZ900 die on that OEM.
The Fenix LD15 = 117 / 8 lumens (117 Fenix lumens = about the same as 200 DX lumens...), is very small for a AA light, and it has a twist switch.
But just like most small flashlights it is not a real thrower.
If you want a much smaller flashlight, i can recommend the Tank 007 E09, twist switch, three mode AAA, very good build quality, the same maximum brightness as Fenix LD01 (Q5 led).
The Tank 007 E09 is much cheaper than a Fenix LD01, and it seems to be just as good.

Can we still expect the second batch of BLF S2s or has this replaced them?
Save yourself some money in the long run on these cheap lights and buy a Zebralight H51w or SC51w and you will be very happy with the $65 spent. I recommend the H51w as it is a more flexible light because it is also a very good head light.. It is my EDC, and I love it.
Yeah, I love that light, but I can not afford it........
Get the UF-H2 instead.
