Yes with it’s 2A current it is not going to be hot. But the VG10S draws 3,7A and I measured about 1300 lumens from it. The led is an XP-L2. And it has a lot of small differences in every part in the good way so I like it! A new level after the regular VG10.
Just please tell me it doesn’t have strobe or any blinkies in its normal rotation…
It does not have. It has 4 modes with mode memory. And hidden strobe accessible with a short doubble tap.

Firefly (not even moonlight 
) is wonderfully dim, but low is a rather jarring step-up from there. Medium and high seem only a bit brighter.

Hi Thorfire. Thank you. I finally received my VG10s. I however, have ONE major issue, the second lowest mode is TOO HIGH! It is blinding in a dim-dark room 
Even while on trail, at night, a low of 5-10 lumens is more than enough to walk/hike, or run at a slow pace with. The second dislike I have is the loss of the tactical ring. IN MY OPINION, the flashlight has a too smooth of a body to be used comfortably in a ‘cigar grip’ without the tactical ring.

On the positive side: the output is great and ‘neutral’ enough to be useful compared to the cool white of the VG10 .
Both “problems” were known by you before you ordered.
Don’t order a light that has no tactical ring if you want to use it with that.
Don’t order a light that has only 1lm or 50lm if you need a 5-10lm mode.
Definitely not ThorFires fault.

However, feedback from other light painters is that a 10Hz strobe (with 50/50 on/off time) would be much more preferable than the variable frequency strobe.
