I love the Astolux holster, for me impressive quality, perfect for the Astrolux and Convoy S2. This ganzo pouch is only a less quality, but is also very good for this price (1,23 USD now), I can recomend (at least until we find another one that fits better).
I realize it’s not actually a holster but I use the coin pocket in my jeans as a holster. It fits perfectly in most pairs. On some, the head sticks out only a little bit.
Tried to remove bezel with tools. Got a good grip on it, but not on the head. Still can’t unscrew. Any tips?
The light got several scratches in the process and that’s all for nothing.
Hank, why do you include a spare o-ring while you actively try to make it irreplaceable?
I’ve removed the bezel on four D4s. Three from Mountain Electronics and one from International Outdoors.
I cut a strip of 3M indoor stairway grip tape and wrapped it around the bezel. Applied another strip to the head and then turned by hand. Bezel came right off. Didn’t need to break out the strap wrenches and the bezels suffered zero damage. None of the bezels were glued.
Not sure why you’re having such an issue. The bezel isn’t hard to remove at least in my samples.
Hello BLF, and a huge thanks to everyone involved in the production of this amazing little light. I have not been wowed like this since I first joined the other forum back in the heyday of the XR-E.
I grabbed a green XP-L 3A from Mtn. Electronics and I was able to remove the bezel by hand as well.
None of the D4 bezel is glued, all you need is a bit more force.
But I advise the user do not try to unscrew the bezel (what is the need anyway?), the tightly screwed bezel is crucial
for the heat sinking.
