Just noticed a U2 version at Manafont for $20.05

I have the R5 version. I like the throw and ability to lock to single mode, but there is a distracting outer ring in the beam that is still noticeable outdoors. I wonder if the U2 version still has this ringy beam.

I’ve orded a Cree U2 version from Manafont. When it arrives I’ll test it out and tray and post photos.

If it will be any brighter than the r5. I guess we don’t know yet.

you can lock out the strobe and make it one mode.

Please report back when you get this one. It may be one of the brightest 14500 lights available. I’m intrigued!

I have the XML version and I am pretty disappointed. The brightness on “turbo” mode is lower than my very old 1-mode UltraFire K10 with R5.
Build quality is fine, switch is nice and I actually like the design more than the K10. But I don’t know how it is possible for a 2-year-old R5 to be brighter than a brand new T6.

edit: I’m using 14500 TrustFire “flames”.
