Sold my beauty light to fund playing with some modifications. Would you be able to build an "oldbobk" version in 1A tint U2 with the reflector he described, but don't mount it? I'm ordering a copper encased pill to be built to hold it. Please PM me with the details. In a perfect world you could make a driver with 5 modes, candle light, 25%, 50%, 75% and Holy @#$&%! Let me know what you think is doable.
I have some 1A tint T6 in stock and I have some 1C tint U2 coming in. I could build you either, but the custom programming is still on the back burner I can send you a 3 mode low, medium and high. Let me know which you want from those two options and I can send something out right away.
any plans on xre-r2 driven to 1.5amps single mode?
i have a dbs v3(xre) with stock smo reflector running on 2xcr123's. could it take a 3.1a xml (hi-lo 1D) or must i get those extensions to use 3 cr123's or 2x18650's?
I think 1.5amps is doable on an XRE, 3.1 amps on an XRE would definitely cook the emitter. I will look into Boazes trick to ship overseas. I have been unsuccessful up to this point getting anything out of the US for a reasonable price.
I haven't got any drivers for them yet, you got my last 2.8 amp driver. The one I made is only driven at 1.4 amps. I just wanted to see the tint and it is very nice.
I expect drivers any day now of course I have been saying that for a month. I have plenty of XPG drivers so I can make anything up to 2 amps. I am sure all 20 drivers I ordered will show up on the same day. I will post here when they come in since so many people are waiting.
E1320, let me know if you need help with the programming. I have a step-by-step procedure on how to program the chips that works really well for me (erasing the chip first, setting the fuses correctly, etc.). I had some issues at first with some chips running at a different frequency, so the timing would be off between chips. However, now since I set the fuses the same for each chip, and set the frequency of the chip in the code, I haven't had a single issue with that and the timing is spot-on (1 second is 1 second).
Shoot me a PM with your email and I will forward what I have on to you. What programmer are you using, and what programs to do the flashing? I'm using the ladyada USBtinyISP w/ AVRdude (http://www.ladyada.net/make/usbtinyisp/).
I'd say M>L>LL>H at 3.5A and without memory. I was just trying to be flexible in case one variation might be more of a pain than the other. I wouldn't need memory if it starts on high or medium.
Does anybody ever request a sequence like M>H>L>LL or is that too goofy? I think I like that one as well. That way you can still start on a reasonable mode but have your "turbo" one click away.
I'll still probably send you the U2 drop-in and you could use that plus your driver to complete the assembly. You can keep the old driver since I won't have a use for it. It would be most appropriate for someone using multiple 18650's since it's 3-18V.
With an 800 plus lumen XML most people want to start low if it doesn't have memory so they don't blind themselves in the dark, but you can have it anyway you want.
