USPS and the shutdown

In recent months, I’ve had several misdirected parcels that have had a grand tour of the US while en route to my home. There have also been intermittent problems with the tracking service online. If those two things occur simultaneously, it might explain your current troubles. However, nothing has ultimately been lost. As others have said, your delays are not connected to the shut down.

So for those of you who are better experienced with USPS, should I be worried that my package has been in limbo since January 4th? Below is the tracking info since the package entered the country.

January 4, 2019
In Transit to Next Facility
Your package is moving within the USPS network and is on track to be delivered to its final destination. It is currently in transit to the next facility.

December 31, 2018, 7:10 pm
Arrived at USPS Regional Facility
WEST FARGO NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER

December 29, 2018, 6:24 am
Arrived at USPS Regional Facility
STAMFORD CT DISTRIBUTION CENTER

December 28, 2018, 5:51 am
Processed Through Facility
ISC NEW YORK NY (USPS)

USPS is probably not affected by the shutdown….but not so sure how much US Customs is affected - all packages we get from abroad must go through customs one way or another so……probable delays

But it looks like the package cleared customs before December 28th, since it was processed through ISC New York, which is the International Sorting Center - clears customs before going to ISC. I don’t have insurance on the package, so I just wanted to see what my options were since it’s been 14 days since the package has been working it’s way to me domestically from North Dakota (West Fargo Network Distribution Center) to California.

Shutdown in no way effects USPS.

USPS Tracking has been working fine for me & package delivery has been lightening fast lately.

But as with anything, problems & mistakes can occur from time to time. They almost always sort themselves out with time however.

Just can’t help to think there will be a tractor pulling to that bay in Jon’s pic. Scooping up all he packages and putting them in a large freight bin. But I guess manual labor is more cost effective there.

But USPS is alive and well, smashing up packages daily. No worries bout that.
Mine today… and they were unsuccessful at breaking it.

@ vwpieces…. Do you have a link to that scanner?

Yeah but no sense of me posting it. Was a Vipon deal @ $40 after $50 off with coupons, but no longer listed. Mine is TryAce SR950.
It is the same as Konnwei KW850 if you search on Amazon you’ll find some deals with 20% off of $70. KW850 also has YT vids on it… mine don’t.

I’ll PM ya some pros and cons bout it…

Thanks vw, I appreciate that. Mine gave up the ghost & it’s time to get a new one.
