Nice!
Like the design! But yea, sticks out pretty far - best to keep as close to the glass as possible - less blockage, less interference with the beam.
Sorry mate did not see this till now. I am not doing any attacking i just like the look lol. I cant be the only one? It can come in handy in some situations like glass breaking.
I just seen those pics. I am not a fan of it. I will probably be the only one to say this but i like the C8 bezel as is. But in stainless that would be awesome or even a tad more aggressive. I think there would be a market for it. Some people find it tacky i guess the attack bezels.
This bezel design i can not even see if the light is on one of the reason i have 5 C8s lol. even some thing like the BLF D80 design bezel its still simplistic and stylish without being over the top?
I hate adding my opinion because what i like will be different to other people so what i like not every one will. Some one some where will defiantly whinge about it no matter what! lol
I now have my grinder i can try and make it like a attack bezel lol. My artist skills are so bad i asked my gf if she thought me or my two year old nephew drew and picture and she said me hahahaha.
Iâm not sure about that design, there is something about the grooves that look wrong to me, Iâm not sure if itâs the dimensions or something else though.
Iâm not a fan of attack bezels and I donât think one made of stainless would break a car window, at least with any consistency would it? In my limited experience a hardened point or a fair amount of heft was needed.
Yea but it depends on the crenulation dimensions. Stainless steel is a lot stronger then aluminium. I think you could smash a window with most attack bezels just need to use force or the force lol.
That would actually make a great video see if we can smash a window with a stainless steel bezel. Any one want to lend me a window?
I think youâll be surprised at how hard it is to break a car window, at least when you want it to break :person_facepalming:
Yea I know but not only car windows we could be talking house windows in an emergency. Also depends on the windows itâs self.
You need a pointy hammer for a car window.
Not a flashlightâŚ
I donât like the grooves on the proposed bezel.
Iâs not âC8â.
Something like this would be best:
But the C8 needs a rather tall bezel, so maybe itâs just not a good idea either wayâŚ
However, this:
Looks good too i.m.o.
Any news? It seems like all is quiet on the western front (starting from the USA).
A standard C8 bezel made of regular shiny stainless steel can be an asset to any C8.
But most certainly would look great on a clear coated or a (light)grey C8. Just saying.
I would pay $6 for an SS bezel for the C8. Jeez, even an SS bezel for a Solarforce P60 host costs $6.
Only requirement: It has to be foy-bezel style, no âtacticalâ BS crenelating. :smiling_imp:
If you look back through this thread youâll see pictures of the first prototype. That one will never see production. In fact, Iâm sorry foy-fans but if it happens itâs going to be a crenelated bezel, but not in the old style and nothing aggressively tactical. I can show you what it will look like pretty soon and more news will be coming after CNY is completely over. Takes a while for things in China to return to normal after the festival time is over.
âNot in the old styleâ
The old style being the normal C8 bezel shape?
Canât wait to see what itâll be.
I might sand back a old C8 bezel i have here and polish it up. I can always sand the bezel to the shape i want it.
Standard bezel is half between the prototype and what i wanted lol. In hindsight a bezel that is to big just gets in the way.
The crenelations are good because i store my C8s upside down so its good to know the light isnât on.
I suppose I can give you a glimpse of what Iâm proposing. As you know, the first prototype didnât come out quite the way we hoped. Simon didnât like it at all and wanted to just scrap the whole project. I think I may have him convinced to give it a second shot though. I knew I needed to help Simon see what I was envisioning so I asked a friend to help me create a âpictureâ of what I think the bezel should look like. Heâs pretty decent with CAD models and rendering images from said models. Some of you may have seen my friendâs work before. :sunglasses:
This is about what I had in mindâŚ
Is this something you would buy?
Nice work mate I like it! Its probably the same height as the original bezel just its square cuts not rounded edges.
Its nice.

Actually, itâs shorter than the original bezel by about 2 mm.
Cool i like it a lot. Just have to wait and see what Simon says.
The overall size doesnât really matter. It would be good to see how it works on the light if it interferes with the beam at all. Seeing as its short i doubt that it would.

Darn! Wish we would have thought of how it might interfere with the beamâŚOh, waitâŚ
Somehow I think weâll be ok.
