Did clemence succeeded in sending the next LED package to djozz on dec.26 ?
Clemence received the LED’s on the 26th, me and Djozz both sent payment for our group buys today (had a few late comers and clemence wanted to be sure and test the LED’s for the egg yolk issue first, which he did yesterday).
Clemence is going to ship them to us tomorrow. So hopefully they show up early January.
Pink glasses, LSD and some 219B-V1 4000K R9080…
Life will look sweet indeed..
Seriously though,
couldn’t you just ‘depolish’ a TIR to get some diffusing and eliminate the losses of the transitions from TIR to diffuser (and the air in between them)?
…provided you get a nice depolishing job done of course..
I guess sandpaper leaves too sharp scratches that will just eat up the light, but iḿ not sure..
But you’ll get no control over beam angle. It will become a “full” diffusion.
Well, you can polish it again afterwards with a felt drum and maybe some polishing agent.
Bead blasting would be good too, but takes special equipment (that i don’t have)
And how about spraying a mist (tiny droplets basically) of clear coat on it?
..i guess i’ll have to try it myself..
All Possible but when you had done hundreds of light fixture you will want the luxury and ease of use of this Luminit LSD
I can understand that. :)
Quote:
Their DTF [Direction Turning Film] was the first product that led me to them. I’ll post the beamshots of all the Luminit LSD samples I have.
Received mine today from Djozz, I’m really pleased with the 353 I tested.
I put it in my 348, and I already love the tint. I can’t want to test it at full power in a bigger host !
Thank you for that cool sale !

Happy new year to all of you!
And a special
Gelukkig nieuwjaar for djozz. Your package arrived today (crazy fast delivery). I missed your answere so i was a bit surprised when the package arrived today. But now the money should be on your paypal acc. And again thanks for your time. And of course a big thanks to Clemence and Texas_Ace for their time and effort.
@clemence
If you can get 219C ,sm573 i would be interested in 3 or 4 (together with the 144A in february). I am thinking about mixing sm403 and sm573 in the Q8. Do not know if it would look nice! But it would be a mix of the two CCT´s that i prefer most.
Which size of MCPCP (10mm?) do i need if i want to build in 7 or 8 LED`s in the Q8? And would there be a recommendation for a TIR?

I’ll try to get those cooler CCT 219Cs.
I really have no idea what is Q8. Is that a flashlight brand?
1st & 2nd batches already ended 2016 December. Next sale thread should start approximately early 2017 February
The plan is to bring more high CRI Nichia LED packages in as wide as possible CCT range. I will not stock anything less than 3 steps binned and Ra 9050 unless there’s a specific request for it.
I also need to find a reliable, cheaper, and easier way for you guys to order. So far, I can only guarantee US – Canada – Mexico, Europe, and South East Asia for reasonable shipping.
did i hear a roumer of 219c 4500 9080 emitters? sounds like the perfect rosy 4500 to me.

That would be 219B V1 (if i’m not mistaking).
Same low Vf but still the ‘old’ thermal behaviour (no problem up to 4 or 5 Watts)
…but correct me if i’m wrong…
I have a potentially bad news for those 9080 219B-V1 lovers out there.
Got this message from my Nichia representative today:
“…And regarding LED spec where colour is sw45K and the CRI is 9080, this is not considered a standard products which means the production of this type of LED spec will be gone anytime if there’s no worldwide demand. So the availability of this type of LED subjected to factory stock conditions, if factory stock is 0, we will not be able to accept your PO in future. I share the alert on such supply condition at the beginning. Any potential volume for this LED requirement in one year?…”
So, I can’t promise you anything in the future. These 100pcs are the only 219B -V1 9080 stock I can bring you. They’re in the edge of extinction, sadly (like those former 219C sm45× 9050).

I would be interested in these. Clemence, will you also restock the other 219s (sm353 and sm403, maybe also sm503 and sm573)?
Yeah I’d be in for a small pile of sw503 r90 219cs if that’s an option. 5700k doesn’t really appeal to me, but high CRI 5000k definitely does.
Happy new year to all of you!

Thank you Docc, glückliches neues Jahr too. I’m not always good with answering, but fast with the package this time
For so many leds in the Q8 you need a new reflector too, if you stick to 4 leds you can keep both the optic and the (extremely nice) stock quad board.

Wait, so you were able to grab 100 of the 219b r9080s for this next buy? I’ve never even seen one of those myself. If so I’ll take 4 please!
Yes, I have 100pcs of 219B-V1 9080 sw45k locked in my next purchase. They’re still somewhere in Nichia’s warehouse.
