I bought from 10x 26650 “old ones” from here (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10PCS-LiitoKala-26650-50A-5000mah-26650-Li-ion-3-7v-Rechargeable-Battery-for-Flashlight-20A/32791838898.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.0sigkl) and tested them with lii-500, they seem to be legit.
Oh and the price was quite reasonable 34.88usd for the whole lot with free shipping.
Sounds good. What kind of capacities did you find if you don’t mind sharing?
It is available now.
Sorry but the notes are not now with me but if I recall correctly, I think that they were all around ~4950-5100. I know that this won’t help but I get my hands on my other laptop next weekend…I’ll post the exact numbers then.

Hey, no problem; thank you for the reply. :+1:
That helps a lot actually. It shows they are all pretty close to & over advertised capacity.
Well, hope this is just a proper rewrap of the cell from their provider. I am not a fan of downgrades, and the blue cell has certainly been a top reference by providing capacity above the wrap figures (how many cells from the big ones do that, eh?) and great discharge performance combined.

Exactly…… :+1:
Let’s hope the new version consistently makes series connection.
Yes, hopefully it is still the same cell manufactured by PowerLong Battery (PLB). Otherwise it will almost certainly be a downgrade.
Test/Review of LiitoKala INR26650-50A (26650-50B) @ CandlePowerForums
Even if they've decided to switch manufacturer to Hengji Battery, I see it good (a very bit less capacity, a bit better discharge performance, or thereabouts).
Are you saying that the 50B was made by hengji?
I found two Hengji Battery, it appears anyway. Any idea which is the “real one” as far as what we are discussing?

For testing purposes, I will call 2 pack cells "A" and "B", and will
call single pack cell as "C" cell.
As online shops love to show inflated specs for the batteries, I
decided to do a search, and find real manufacturer of these cells, so
I can have more precise information about cells available. By using
help from a skilled Chinese friend, I was able to determine (with
high probability, around 99%) makers of these cells. In case of "C"
cell, this is Chinese company, called "PLB":
http://www.plb.com.cn/Products/rlx5000mas.html In case of "A" and
"B" cells, maker is "Hengji Battery", website and battery specs were
not found. Assuming that cells should be mostly similar, I will use
specs for battery "C", as a reference for others too. So, specs are
as follows:
Capacity: 5000mAh
Charge current: 2.5A
Charge cut-off current: 100mA
Nominal discharge: 5A, with 2.75V cutoff
Max. discharge current: 5C (25A)
So I will be using above data for testing (except cut-off voltage, as
practice showed, belov 3V, discharge to 2.75V delivered maybe 30-
40mAh, so I decided not to force cells to that extent).
The results are as follows:
Capacity, mAh:
Cell A: 4922
Cell B: 4900
Cell C: 5002
Energy, Wh
Cell A: 16.88
Cell B: 16.81
Cell C: 17.06
Internal resistance
Cell A: 22 milliohms
Cell B: 22 milliohms
Cell C: 23 milliohms
Weight
Cell A: 91.5 grams
Cell B: 91.2 grams
Cell C: 93.2 grams
Dimensions:
Cell A & B: 65.15mm length, 26.52mm diameter, Positive pin is about
0.5mm below shrink wrap.
Cell C: 64.82mm length, 26.62mm diameter, Positive pin is at level of shrink wrap.…

It’s funny that the 50A and 50B have similar markings and use a similar shade of blue. But they are different enough to think they are made by different companies. I agree the 50B also seems like a great cell. I have one of each and use them in series. From that CPF test their capacities are very close so I have no worries about using them in series.
Yeah, I hear you. But it does make perfect sense & matches up with what we found here too concerning the ‘A’ vs. ‘B’.
That being , the ‘A’ cells have more capacity than the ‘B’ cells when “tested” the same way on the same chargers. They were Lii 500’s located in the USA & Wales UK. Best I remember I had/have 10 A’s & 8 B’s…. I think Ian had 8 A’s & 4 B’s.
Other people who reported also had similiar results. ‘A’ has more capacity than ‘B’… though it be slight (around 150 mAh IIRC) and most every cell was above the rated capacity of 5000 mAh.
Personally, I hope these “new” ones are made by PLB & spec in real life as the original ‘A’ cell did/do.
Time will tell I guess……
I ordered 4 for $19.57 plus $5.79… can someone check if they are legit? Here is a link. Thanks

Those are the “new” ones. Hopefully they will be… They should be.
If you have a charger that will check discharge capacity, check them when you get them. That will tell the story… most of it anyway.
Thanks… hopefully they works great in two 26650 series. Else I may have to buy connector or solder blop…
They sell battery series connector for 26650 or 18650… about $1.07 each…

Your welcome. Maybe they will, on all the others I have some will & some won’t. No rhyme or reason to it either… just luck of the draw.
That connector is what I use on the one’s that need it. Only bad thing about buying those 1 or 2 at a time is shipping kills you …… :person_facepalming:
So I bought a handful of them last time I bought and the shipping was not much more than buying one.
If you want one PM me your address and I’ll send you one. :+1:
