It really helps to click the “qoute” button on the post you want to reply to. This gives a reference for what your saying. There are so many conversations going on I forget what I said and to who, sometimes.
I saw those L shaped pieces. I don’t know how they fit. Have you ever contacted Gyrfalcon and asked them?
Maybe they attach to the sliding blade that touches the negative end of the battery. I assume it is some kind of spacer, but it’s hard to tell without it in my hands to figure out the puzzle.
I forgot about that in my excitement. Those numbers are at 6A.
At 5A it still gets ~1200m throw (will know better once I get the centering rings printed). Compared to 1250m for the 70cri version (this could change slightly with final focusing).
So it looks like this LED is around ~10% less output based on the throw numbers compared to the 70CRI version.
This means it should still be over 6000 lumens at 5A and over 7000 lumens at 6A.
That trade off is a no brainier for me with the improved CRI and vastly improved tint shift.
The XHP 70.2 results are very nice. Cant imagine what would it look like if it was a DD setup. Either way, could you post a few beamshots for us, mere mortals, who do not have it yet?
And I have 2 other questions.
How does the GT handle the heat from the XHP 70.2? Does it get hot if you let it on the “high” or “turbo”?
What would be the throw of a sliced XHP 50.2 at 5 amps? Would it be worth modding or not?
I will try to get some beamshots after I print off a centering ring and get the focus sorted out so as to give the correct impression.
It gets warm for sure but I have not ran it for more then a few minutes at a time so far. It handles the power better then any other light I have but I still expect it to get too hot to hold if ran long enough at room temperature.
A 50.2 could have some good results indeed, the issue would be finding a 12V DTP mcpcb that would fit in this light (aka, is big enough).
I still wonder about The Miller’s prolonged absence (Almost 3 weeks) I have read the updates and all but I can’t keep my mind from wondering why he just decided to drop off the face of the forum completely. I wish him well…
Maybe just a post, to let us know how is everything going…
The VC4 is cheaper because it can only do 0.5A x 4. If you dont mind slower charging, you can get a cheaper charger like it. The more power or features you want, the higher the price.
BTW, anyone looking for the Miboxer C4-12 ahould use the search phrase “miboxer 3a”. Especially on the aliexpress site. C4-12 just doesn’t show up well.
They come with US plug and EU plug. I’m not sure what plug they use in Australia. The power supply brick takes 100 to 240 volt and it’s a common computer style plug. I don’t see any on sale right now. One store on Aliexpress had them for $30 on 11/11, but right now they are regular price.
