Well, we really don't have mods here. :) I'm obviously just some guy, but I think you did an awesome job. In fact, your review put the XT20 on my short list when I first read it over at the other place (courtesy of Google; I don't usually go there so I would have missed it if it wasn't for Google). I ended up getting the V60C instead at that point in time because it was such a great deal but the XT20 is still very much in the "DO WANT" category.
That styling of that torch kind of leaves me cold, different strokes I guess. I guess you know you are really a flashaholic when the looks of a flashlight are even a topic to be discussed.
great review and nice pictures.turboBB. notice both reflectors are smooth.i think the earlier version, the reflector is op on one and smooth on the other.
Excellent review. I don't like the whole flashlight much. But! The head would make a very good looking byclicle lamp for sure. It is however well made judging by the pics.
I feel manufacturers of high power flashlights are missing out by staying with the 18650 batteries (especially in two cell format), if they were to take the plunge and use 26650 batteries the light would be more comfortable to handle it would look more balanced and have the advantage of longer runtime.
No points for guessing my favorite cells for larger lights.
Thx for the comments and warm welcome guys! Please feel free to throw me some constructive criticisms on how I can improve these reviews. Was there any info missing, are there particulars you'd like to see discussed?
Likewise, if there are any specific feedback about the light (future revisions, specific features) that you have, I'd be happy to pass it back to the mfg (or point them to this link).
@Oxy Moron, albeit a bit old, I'll be porting over the V60C review soon.
@trooplewis - I think styling definitely matters (although subjectively), thus I always dedicate a section to design/features. It's interesting to analyze the thought that was put into the design of each light (or not).
@Aleister - ah yes, the outdoor shots are now up there. I had posted this a while back but never updated it. I will also be porting over the outdoors XM-L throw thread as well as my Epic Indoor Shots comparo thread.
@MILO - yeah, I think it's best to check w/the dealers if there are specific configuratons one might like. I had requested the OP reflectors from Klarus as I wanted to review them as well but never heard back. Maybe I'll try again.
@jacktheclipper - I must confess I haven't spent much time here but definitely aim to do so going forward. Will definitely look up Flashlight Foy's reviews, thanks for letting me know!
@Budgeteer - a gent on the other forum actually did just that and has been very satisfied with it as a bike light. The ability to add a pressure sensitive switch might make it even more fitting for that use.
@Burro - whoa boy, you're in luck, my next review will be of a 26650+ form factor light ;o)
@gorann - thx! Photography (especially macros) is another hobby of mine. Please feel free to peruse my galleries here.
