Dale, yes, –25 without the windchill figured in. We’ve had colder in years past. I’ve seen it below –30.
My brother had a good idea, throw a bunch of water into the air to see if I could make snow. I bet I could if I put the water into an agricultural sprayer. But enough of that; now it’s back to our regular scheduled programming.

I heard at –25 like we have been seeing, if you boil water, the steam will turn to snow

I have seen our moist air from inside spill outdoors and ice crystals form out of that.

My Dad showing the massive GT against his new (birthday present) Q8…
Easily far and away the largest flashlight in my collection (only some of which is represented here)
And of course, who’s surprised I already got into mine and made changes? The centering ring is actually a single large piece of what appears to be Delrin, with holes cut in the black plastic to clear the hold down screws going through the MCPCB, this keeps the centering ring stable and is well done, nice attention to detail…
The full copper MCPCB is DTP and has standard thermal paste under it, the pattern shows the inprint of the pressure the two screws provided…
The driver, as fleshed out by TA and DEL, virtually bulletproof in this application and heavily tested for our satisfaction and ease of mind…
And a couple of comparisons, to the BTU Shocker and the even larger Olight SR90 Intimidator. Added a shot with the Shocker and a Convoy L6. I guess the Intimidator is now the one forced into some timidity….
I got into it the same day I got it, swapped the warm 4000K XHP-35 for a whiter version more to my liking.
Thanks Lumintop, excellent job on this… and thanks again to the team that provided vigilance to ensure everything about it was to our liking…. well done!
That driver is so nicely done, really looks premium

CrashOne, strange that you should mention that. As I was scrolling down and before I got to your comment I noticed the same thing also. It caused me to pause. It just caught my eye. I know nothing about those boards, but it just looks very professionally laid out. Well done TA and DEL! It really is a thing of industrial beauty.

Del gets full credit for the driver, I was busy when the driver was designed and unable to help at all.

With all the GT's getting lit up, the spring thaw could come early for you folks in the colder climates

It’s cold where I am, and the GT really draws the heat from my hands.
I managed to slip a length of bicycle inner tube onto the body of my GT.
The 20 x 2.35 tube is a very tight fit, but I’m pleased with the result. I used a heat gun to soften the tube as I wrangled it on.
I’ll be showing off the GT at a party tonight, and decided to use the vinyl cutter to embellish the front end a bit.

Would you be willing to sell me a couple of them fancy stickers?
I like the thought of that

I did not consider your location. I may be asking a bit much. LOL
Another thought, maybe engraving the light would workout better?

I bet somewhere out there, there is a Neoprene sleeve that would fit these monsters

I wonder what the temp’ was for that.
There’s got to be a way to do it. Heck, the ski areas do it. But they use compressed air to both make fine droplets and chill the water. Maybe for us, out of a paint spray gun. I’m just brain storming since I don’t have a spray gun.

goshdogit, yes aluminum sucks the heat right out of anything hot when it’s cold out. Even with gloves I don’t like to handle the aluminum feed scoop to refill the poultry feeders.

Just played around with the moonlight settings and can report that:
Level 1: no light detected even in complete darkness
Level 2: only barely lights up all 4 dies (one is visibly dimmer than the others), similar to level 1 with my Q8
Level 3: which is the default, is a usable low moon light and probably what I will leave it at
goshdogit I love that sticker! I’m gonna blame you if I end up getting a vinyl cutter

is the strobe full throttle on this light ?
goshdogit:
How long would you need to shine it into someones face untill there is permanent damage?
How many minutes till the room fills with the smell of fried chicken? :confounded:

Here's a Neoprene cover that should do the trick for the cold climates.
I ordered two sets

Jason, I think my order was a pallet filler since I was possibly the first to pay who wanted cells from the USA. Or they didn’t include the cells. Both are possibilities.
Tuesday will tell the tale. I hope it’s the first and not the latter. I absolutely hate trying to make things right but I have cells for myself, but this light and cells is for my brother and I’ll wait for the 2nd light.
Edit: Pulsar, tracking tells me that mine was forwarded to “me” a day or so ago. I just think they didn’t get it through a scanner yet. Heck, even if they take secondary roads it doesn’t take all of that time to get to the DHL building in Augusta. I think they gave the folks who work there the holiday weekend off. :) The Augusta “hub” isn’t much. It’s just a hole in the wall and not much else. Maybe one van to handle the “load”. I bet they don’t have more than a handful of employees at best up here; I suspect far fewer employees. I’ve been there and there is no answer when one pushes the door bell during business hours. : ) Welcome to Maine.
I have no idea why the text above is struck out. That was not my intention but an artifact of the software.
It’ll all work out in time, I have no doubt.
Def not the first to pay who wanted cells in the US. You are in the 50s on the payment list and im 18. I am pretty sure there are people before me who wanted cells.
So you either were lucky or didn’t get cells. Either way. I hope it gets there soon and safely for you.
