I got the Nitecore TM handle in today, the radius is smaller than the tube on the GT… if I spread it out to make it fit the corners where the band fits together will cut into the ano and in the end it’d just look bad.
It’s not right for the TM16 either, but a strip of copper sheet material filled the gap and now it looks nice with the copper showing through the cut-out on the band, so it’s still a win even if not for the GT.
TurningBlueChips has the best bet, machined to fit this light specifically… can’t wait to see how it works out.
Edit: The camera lens handle looks like it’d work very nicely, albeit at a price. For $23 and then another $12 shipping it gets pricey. There are other’s similar selling for $59. Thinking about trying one, can put it on my 70-200mm’s foot and use it like it’s designed for if it isn’t a good fit on the GT, but it’ll have to wait a while, the pocketbook is overextended.
Hi, everyone. I was 732 on the list and ordered one WITH batteries. It arrived on Jan 3 shipped by DHL. WOW! What a light! I can see Illinois across the Mississippi at night clearly and that’s over 1/2 mile.
Should have been on here earlier to let you all know that lights with batteries are being delivered. Sorry.
Now to wait until number 1130-something shows up. That one’s for me. The first was for my son who is thrilled with it.
Thanks so much to all the guys here that contributed to a really well designed device. A true icon.
To whom that is handling the shipping for BLF GT. If you are shipping with FedEx all you have to do is fill out the form that to disclosed the lithium batteries is in the package. FedEx will handle differently, same with DHL or UPS. You can either call the carrier or download online. http://images.fedex.com/downloads/hk_english/packagingtips/declaration.pdf
Or, an alternate idea would be to remove chronic complainers from the list.
You know, those very, very few people that continually complain & moan of and about non-critical issues constantly.
If they have already paid… issue them a refund.
And let that be that……
Just another thought that would solve the problem without punishing the overwhelming vast majority of people that exhibit a degree of patience & understanding required in a Group Buy of this magnitude…. or any GB really.
……………………………. Edit / 1-19-2018 …… 14:05 CDT
It seems the alternate method I presented above is unpopular with a few. So be it….
I totally agree with the idea M4DM4X presents above. “limit future group buys to 150 to 250 units…”
As most of the ones that you are continually complaining about are in the first 550
and paid their deposits so that the GB could proceed, if you had banned them the GT would never have happened.
Just another thought
Cheers David
ooops, didn’t edit the quote right, fixed now, it wasn’t MadMax that said it
I’m in that group as well. Yes it sucks, especially knowing to have entered, deposited and payed very early with a likely delivery of mid to end of February.
But!, this should stop after stating the fact. Especially the team here on blf can’t do anything about it. Neal can’t either as it turns out to be too much for one person. Lesson learned. Without him the GT would not have happened anyways.
So let’s silently be pissed as much as you please (me included) but don’t make it harder for all the ppl who can’t change it anyways.
