Not all lights were sent, but soon they will send it.
You (and some of us) just have to wait a little longer.

Come on, You can’t just come on here and say something like that and not follow it up lol!!!??
I’m on the edge of putting a claim in anyway to protect myself. The team may ‘know’ Neal, but I’m afraid don’t - at least not enough to potentially lose $111 in some mix up or something.
Your comment would suggest there is a ‘need’ to put a claim in, like there would be no chance of our money back from Neal ?

Edit - all joking aside, maybe someone needs to sort something out soon regarding this - if our pay date goes past the point of no return with paypal, who is going to cover the thousands of Dollars if something goes wrong? (that’s a big ‘if’ i know, but it is there)
This in no way being nasty or anything like, certainly it is not a moan at the fantastic team (who work their socks off, thank you) - it is purely just to protect our money - which I assume you would all understand.

Off-centered LED. Wondering why the hole in the centering ring is so much larger than the LED, does that not defeat it’s purpose.

I’m thinking that loosening and retightening the head might solve this, but I cannot get into the head, it’s on to tight, any suggestions?
The tailcap ring is also really tight, and someone a few pages back suggested it might be due to a pinched o-ring, but I am unable to unscrew the piece under the lumintop logo too.

That definitely doesn’t look as close to the LED as the one DB Custom posted back in post 13277. I hope this is an isolated case and the quality control hasn’t started to drop off, that would be a real shame especially since there are a lot still to go.

Certainly a different centering ring, his touches the corners of the LED while mine doesn’t….

How can I open up the head to try adjust it? The hotspot is visibly not round which is pretty annoying in use.

Congrats! Good news. $25 is under the €22 Why on earth puts Lumintop $30 on my packet? Neal wrote me before shipping it's $25 With 30 invoice you have no change to slip through customs.

Just received my GT, does anyone else have centering issues with their LED? The hole in the black centering ring is much larger than the square of the xhp35hi, which is clearly much closer to one side of that ring compared to the other.

Almost all of the prototype lights suffered a piece of the centering ring being scraped off and landing on the LED and caused it to burn.

It looks like to fix this they decided to center the reflector to the mcpcb instead of the LED itself. Which is a good idea and something we considered when this started.

This works fine in the vast majority of cases but in some the LED will reflow slightly off-center and cause an issue like you saw. The good news is that yours is about as bad as it can get and sometimes reassembling the light can fix it like it did in your case. It also should not be enough to make any noticeable difference in the throw of the light.

Seeing as the LED burning would kill the light, I would say this is a worthwhile tradeoff to make sure that doesn’t happen and completely kill the light.

Seems like the battery carriers are to long. I can’t get a
Complete seal on the tail cap when carriers are in. Does anyone else have this issue?

It is not an issue. It is by design. The carriers must be pressed against the driver in order to complete the connection, so there is some extra thread depth to make sure that can always happen.

So not to worry, your light is perfectly fine.

Can someone tell us more regarding GT for NASA. Did NASA ordered this FL? Or was sent to nasa free of charge?
Will they use it on next mission to moon or mars?

Yes, they ordered one of the lights I signed up for but never ordered.

Still waiting for it to be shipped like everyone else. No idea if I will hear more from them once they get it or not.

The black centering piece is machined from Delrin, oddly enough it isn’t perfectly symmetrical… if it’s touching the emitter it needs to be flipped around. All 4 that I have seen this has been true on.

It’s been a while since I visited this thread, and even longer since i remember reading this but iirc turbomode is entered by double clicking and should be visibly brighter than the top of the ramp? Am I remembering correctly? If it isn’t (which is my case) any reason that you can think of? To head off the question im using the cells from Neal that i purchased with the light
