Guys in EU received light with registered lately when it was sent to you? Mike
Just received mine (registered) in two small boxes. But I’m a little bit shocked!!
@ first I was thinking it was a big mistake, because of there small size and because they where totally whet and damaged!!
I could peel off the whet carton with my bare hands like butter and was very surprised to see the GT head totally free/loose in the whet damaged carton, withoutadditionalprotection!!??
What where they thinking while packing those boxes!!?? That is totally crazy!! This is the complete opposite as in those pictures with those nice protected boxes!!
The other small package was also whet/damaged and contained only the tube with battery holders inside, wrinkled in simple plastic foam and on the bottom a totally whet manual :/
This is due to the registered mail shipping. A lot of places have strict limits on size and weight for registered mail and this must have been what was needed in order to fall under those limits. It is not ideal but the only way they could ship registered mail. DHL would have been just like everyone else with the nice padded box.
Nothing that they could do about the wetness obviously.
I was among the first 555 but i have no email or tracking number or any hint of an arriving GT yet…|
Should i be worried?
No, there are still about 50 orders not shipped and the last batch that was shipped the tracking numbers were not sent out. Martin has a list that he has been sending to people but we are not sure how accurate it is. It was obviously done in a rush. You can find the link to it in the OP.
TA, after LT, Neal are back from holidays, can you please ask them to first send out these 50 orders.
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards
Yes, the remaining orders are the first priority for sure. I am in no rush to send out the next round of PM’s, they will happen when they happen. They can save up some reflectors in the mean time.
The tint is fantastic, of course i wouldn’t mind a bit more red/rose for better CRI but the color temp is perfect for my taste (everything doesn’t look lik shades of grey as is the case with cool tints) and helps cutting through bad weather as a bonus.

I used mine for a short while last night & must admit that I also didn“t think that it was that warm of a tint, well to be honest not warm at all compared to what I was expecting.
I didn“t have any other lights with me however to compare the tint to so next time I will take a couple of other lights with me to compare tint.
Yep, the tint is really great, I love it personally. It is only when you try it side by side with a CW light (which most other throwers are) that it looks warm.
That doesn’t make the GT any warmer then it was before the comparison, only your perception of it.

I’m sorry TA, but I don't take that. I can understand the small box for weight purposes but NO PROTECTION at all??!! Protective foam does not weight anything...
It is not only crazy to do so (ship the head totally unprotected in just a carton box) but also unrespectful to the buyer. Am I so wrong here??
EDIT: to me it doesn't matter anymore as there is not one scratch to find (luckily) but for other people in feature package sending you should tell them, period.

The size of the box can be a larger factor then weight in many cases, I know in the US first class mail (which is basically the same as registered mail elsewhere) is graded into tiers by size and if it is over a certain size, it can not ship via that method and you have to use another method that generally costs 2x the price.
Not saying it is ideal or that the packaging was good, just saying they must have had a reason for doing it that way. They have proven they are more then willing to overpack the heck out of these lights so I don’t see them skimping on it without a reason.
Could also be partly for customs, customs will generally pay much closer attention to a big well packed box vs a plain smaller one.

The least they could do is add some bubblewrap around the head and some sealed air to fill the gaps and prevent it from shaking
We have seen three lights now packed in a VERY poor way. It seems the registered lights for at least France, Belgium and The Netherlands were packed this way. It is a real shame they sent the head without any kind of protection in a poor cardboard box. As one can see there was plenty of room to put the head in some bubble plastic. So, it can not be because of the extra weight or the size of the box. Also chances that customs would open the box would not have been different when the head was wrapped in bubble plastic. I’m very disappointed in the way they treated EU customers who choose registered shipping especially if you know how the lights shipped by DHL were packed.
I am not making a big deal out of it because there is simply nothing that can be done about the packages already shipped and nothing I can do about future shipments until they return.
Today I finally received my package containing my GT (registered without batteries, delivered by DHL) in Germany. I paid for it on Dec 3th, so this baby took 11 weeks (79 days) to get to me. Because the package said it was sent by an address in Germany, I had no VAT to pay.
Now to the GT: This thing is a big, hefty and very impressive monster and definitely worth the waiting. The LED on mine is spot on, and the anodizing has no imperfections. It seems the reflector is V2 (only slight lines if you explicitly look for it from the right angle). The switch LED is only visible in the dark, but that is what it´s meant for, right?
Here it is with its little Brother the Utorch UT02. And even on the mirror finish of the UT02, you can see machining marks if you look at it from the right angle.
Huge thanks to Texas_Ace and the whole BLF team including Neal and Lumintop. You all did a great job. Hopefully, we also will hear back from TheMiller anytime soon.
Looks like one of our British friends is trying to make money out of it, and quite a lot 350 USD !
NOT from UK:
“
Item location:
Cerkno, Slovenia “
The first offer is from him, perhaps sales promotion… 80GBP = 111.95 $ …
Maybe not so “quite a lot” as you or I would think at first glance. First, he will want to include the PP-dues in the selling price. Second, the exchange rate of the USD vs. the EURO is about 3.5% worse than when he bought it. The same amount in USD will give him less EURO.

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.
GT arrived safe and sound here in the UK via registered mail. As with other UK members this week, no extra charges, appears to be sent via parcel force 48hr service. Don’t know how the postal service they used works but I’m not complaining.
One box, very good packaging.
It’s big, it’s lovely. Reflector looks very good to me. Can’t wait to try it out.
Big thanks to Lumintop, team giggles and Texas Ace for all your hard work.
To everyone waiting, hang in there. It’s worth the wait.
It also seems that, no matter how bad the packing materials look they did indeed do their job and protected an awesome flashlight long enough to make it to your hands. Let’s all stay calm until flashlights are actually damaged in transit.
Oh my Goodness compared to the Q8 it’s REALLY BIG
Even Jokie looks surprised

Just a quick video, how Giga thrower is superior to anything normal!!
Why not just answer the question or don’t. The commentary seems rude and unnecessary.
I got mine! It was totally unexpected because I’m one of the last from the first group and I never got a tracking number.
This thing is just insane! Big thanks to the team!

It also seems that, no matter how bad the packing materials look they did indeed do their job and protected an awesome flashlight long enough to make it to your hands. Let’s all stay calm until flashlights are actually damaged in transit.
Did you got a email when you filled in the form?
Or did you just not check?
