Ok, I’ve got plenty of Li-Ion batteries, but I want to get a few CR123 batteries for car use. What are the best CR123a currently, and where is the best place (I’m in the US) to get them?
I ordered a Skilhunt HO3 to keep in the car as an emergency light, and want to use CR123s for their temperature tolerance.
Never mind, I bought batteries on this link (Panasonic) for $1.39 ea, qty 2. Now they are $5 each!! Funny things amazon does with pricing, and I am sure it works a lot of the time.
Panasonic USA, Panasonic Japan and Sanyo Japan make the best and at least for Panasonic USA, they make them for SureFire, StreamLight, some Rayovacs, most Energizers, Duracell and Battery Station, among others.
There is some speculation about whether there are varying ‘grades’, but nothing concrete. Shelf life is 10 years, so make sure you ask for the expiry dates on the batteries being offered.
They generally clock in at 1500mAh-1550mAh. Same for the Japanese Panasonics and then the Sanyos are roughly 1400mAh.
