nice write up and beamshots - thanks!

Why no C10 zoomie in there - yours is xml, no? Ok, ok, because it would look totally different than everything else lol. I haven't modded mine, yet, so I'm curious

Nice shots! Thanks for doing this. I like the Keygos, good throw and a ton of spill.

Thx for this! The all-in-one mouse over was a great idea!!

thanks to everyone

dthrckt,

tomorrow, If the weather permits :)

xm-l with 40mm lens (mouse over -> flood)

thanks!

I have two 50mm from DX but they're terrible at full focus :( That's really too bad because the 50mm would be awesome improvement to tractor supply 3xD zoomie...

I don't know, mine isn't so bad.

Here, it is a little out of focus (third spot), but I haven't problem with it. Little distortion, but hey, it was $3. :)

Can we have more info on these? Is there a separate post? The host, build, more pictures of the assembly?

Thanks!

Viktor

a moment...

this is the 50mm aspherical light:

The lens fits perfectly into the tr-500 tr-1200 head. I made a copper pill, heatsink, what I pressed and glued into the battery tube. Now it works with 1 cell.

this is the modified SMALL SUN ZY-C10-S:

I threw away the orig lens and replaced with a better one. I had to lift up the emitter, because the focal lenght of the lens is short. Now the original bezel doesn't fit, temporary got a protective plastic bezel.

Any chance of you opening up a new post (or two) with more details on each?

More picz! :D

Viktor

Can you give us some details on the driver mod? Was it an upgrade or a repair, what's the difference before and after, which replacement driver did you use? Thanks.

*EDIT* Nevermind, I think I found it... here (posts #50 and #70). Thanks!

okay :)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing, very useful indeed!!

Could you post kcd readings for the two aspherics flashlights (40mm and 50mm)?

Hard to tell an exact value, because the brightness changes through the projected die image. The upper part always the brightest. A good average value for the 50mm ~ 50-60kcd (upper part 70-80k!), and for the 40mm ~ 35kcd (upper part 45-50k), I don't know the exact emitter current, both direct drive, somewhere 4A...
