In terms of different functionality,or how functionality is implemented, firmware definitely can affect parasitic drain, I don’t know anything about the difference in this case, you are likely correct.
In this case we are talking about NarsilM v1.0 to v1.2. There are only small changes in the code. Whether it takes 6 years to drain or 11 or 2 makes no difference to most people. If your going to store the light for long periods it’s always best to turn the battery tube to cut all power.
Maybe someone will report back the drain they measure.
Maybe because it’s a direct drive light and the measured output actually varies a lot depending on batteries and a lot of other factors.
CW also tends to measure higher than NW. So maybe they’re getting very similar measurements?
You lose trust way too easy. Only a handful of people have actually received it so far so we don’t really know if there’s a problem or not. It may be a simple fix. It’s way too early to tell.
Buying in bulk from a group buy to extort the market, priceless…
Good way to end group buy pricing for the rest of us.
Not to mention using up all the available stock so we can’t get one. Limited number available, even more limited thanks to those who abuse the system. Not cool man!
Oh, I can read just fine, perhaps it’s in how you wrote it?
Regardless, Sofirn never does the spring bypass well so if you were going to resale bulk you would either have to sell em as-is or bite the bullet and do some work for your profits. It is what it is… we have come to accept compromise from Chinese vendors, will your customers learn to accept the same from you?
Still, extorting a group buy to get samples for business use is rather unscrupulous…
Just to be clear, the two Sofirn Q8’s I’m wanting from this group buy aren’t for business purposes. I’m gifting one to my father for pig hunting and the other is for a friend. If they’re good torches I’ll buy more to sell through buying directly.
Well the upside i guess is that it works fine and there’s not some fault. I may just have to drop the price and sell as they are. Hopefully Sofirn correct whatever is needed in the future as it’s an awesome looking light.
I’m sorry about not mentioning the store, just had another member give me a wake up call about this,
I am happy to buy from Alie, I looked just now through Amazon U.S. and didn’t see it but that would be the best but not a big deal.
So Alie would be great and then I can buy some other things from them while I’m there,
I think I have the purchase pause down, I’ve had to do that once before with another vendor, Simon I think…?
Sorry again for my falling asleep at the wheel, hope I didn’t miss out.
Thank You JasonWW…!!
I can wait a couple days for Amazon, will they send a message or other when they are available…?
If it’s easier for anyone I can also buy from Alie, it is not any sort of big deal time wise for me, so a day or a week no problem.
If you want to pick the place just let me know where to go and off I will go.
Thank you again
Edit: I really think Alie might be best frankly, I need some Jaxman parts and then the new CU S2+ has been haunting me so need to go by Simon’s store, so Alie I guess, I’m a dork and flashaholic, I’ll go anywhere for a light… Ha
This will be a dumb question but I rather be dumb than not asking first.
Can you tell me if those PCB’s that Sofrin is selling with all the other Q8 parts, those will still work in these lights, correct.
That way if I’m right I can mess with multiple tint LEDs and just swap them around…?
Edit: Saw the Amazon, thank you once again … great deal.
