I don’t know what’s keeping Fritz away. I just know his last message stopped in the middle of a thought and he hasn’t responded since. Maybe … Something Happened. ™(*)
So we’re trying to get in touch, to make sure he’s okay and try to move the project along.
* It’s a mystery. Perhaps even an action-packed psychological thriller by M. Night Shyamalan. One of these days he’s bound to make a movie called: Something Happened

Is it just me or do some of these posts not make any sense at all?
Yes, but they give life to the thread.
Sometimes there were up to three days without a new #Post.
So it sounds all messed up and no logic to you too?
I wish this thread would be quiet for months until there is real news. Let it hibernate.
Yes, I don’t have 10 minutes to waste reading off topic discussions about horror movies and porn. That 10 minutes would be better spent watching horror movies or porn.
I wasn’t refering to off topic stuff.
I can’t understand Chinookers comment as an example.

The US has some, uh, interesting ideas about content ratings and what counts as obscene or unhealthy. It’s considered okay to show violent murders but not okay to show a nipple.
In either case though, it’s easier to see with a good flashlight.
See how I got us back on topic there? Smooooooth.
On FW3A proto1, I had issues with the battery losing contact when I placed the light on a hard surface, because it had a weak spring at the back and a post at the front. There were also issues with the driver. Those were both fixed in proto2, along with some other improvements. After putting a layer of Kapton tape around the front of the inner tube, it has been functioning pretty much perfectly ever since. It makes a really nice EDC. And in theory, proto3 should remove the need for Kapton tape.
I’m not 100% sure what changed between proto2 and proto3 though, because Cawi’s description of proto3 sounded exactly like proto2. I think there was some sort of initial issue, but I’m fuzzy on the details, and it sounds like it has been working fine ever since.
Nope, need more than that to continue with this fuzzy logic project. When you get it right. I’ll reconsider.
What does he need more of?
Why is he calling it a “fuzzy logic project”? Does he not know the definition? Is he saying he’s dropping out of this group buy? Is he telling ToyKeeper she needs to “get it right”? What does that even mean?
Those 2 sentences just make no sense to me. Maybe there is some type of miscommunication? Maybe I’m just not getting it?
I didn’t want to get things further off topic, but it felt like I’m loosing my mind. It’s probably just me.

I removed myself from the list some time ago. I revisit the topic to see iffn progress has progressed.
This is fuzzy to me and not logical…..

Not pointed at TK, she’s the most focused thing about this project, everything else seems blurred with platitudes.
“special elegant triple powerful”
I’m no longer holding out any hope for this Christmas. It was just going to be a present to myself anyway, not really important. I never thought it would stretch out this long though.
I’m staying on the list,no reason not to, but I must admit it wouldn’t shock me if this one just didn’t happen, or if it takes quite a while yet. The good thing is, there are definitely viable alternatives now that weren’t always available. It may be time to think about those. I haven’t as of yet, looking forward to this one.

Tail switch, more ergonomic body design, nicer clip, regulated up to ~1000 lumens, fancier firmware. Also a bit lighter.”

Most of that above is correct.
the D4 to me. is about the ugliest small torch on the market at present.
They a bit like yachts and stink Boats. (I’m a yachtie for 60+ yrs)
If it doesn’t look “yes” to your eyes when you walking towards, or away from.
You’ll never be happy with it.
This IS a nice to have torch, aesthetically. We need more .
I’ve got over 30 tubes. Some with a lump on the end most with bits sticking out all over the place to make it different from the other tubes around.
Talking under $200 torches basically.
We NEED a little Lathe “art” to improve the looks of modern torches.
They’ve got soooo Ho-Hum, there’s basically nothing new to buy that doesn’t look like several others on the market.
Why are emotions running so high about a light? Stay on board, don’t if you think it’s a waste but just respect other people’s excitement and stop being doom and gloom mongers!
Fritz, although I dont know him at all and don’t want to pretend I do, has put his name on this project so I’m quite sure that he isn’t intentionally sandbagging the final light production. I would imagine he wants this done as much as anyone, more than anyone else even. Being nasty and negative isn’t going to make this go faster, or be more fun or nicer for anyone! It’s like your mom used to say “if you got nothing nice to say, say nothing at all”
You’d swear that the people moaning here are living in perpetual darkness and require THIS light just to survive! Quit your moaning and just enjoy the process guys! What would the equivalent light from Lumintop cost you had the TLF/BLF people not developed the light?
If you’re desperate for a triple EDC similar to this one make one if you’re capable of knocking one out, if not settle in till the FW3A is done. It really is as simple as that.
As far as aesthics, sure, always nice. But for me it was always only what comes out the business end of a light, and relative size. Now it’s firmware as well. Pretty is good, but not necessary in flashlights. Just my take.
One hundred and seventy one pages into the thread!
Thought it might be time to post this from the OP:
“A word of warning for BLF specials:
The BLF part is done by BLFers who do it in their spare time, despite they may seem professionals and the work they do is at professional level, BLF is not our full time job. So give us a break and relax if thing are not going as fast as you want.
Nothing is sure so expect waiting:
- Waiting for news and updates.
- Waiting for the project to come to fruition.
- Waiting till the result can finally be ordered.
- And then waiting for arrival at your home, shipping from China can take a long time.
So relax, enjoy the many other facets of BLF while you wait and remember:
It is done when it is done “
Hoping PMs will be sent when it’s ready to sell, I’m gonna try to just forget about it until it’s done because that’s really all that matters.
We’ve gotten down to snipping at each other’s sigs, ugh.
I’m gonna go see if I’ve completely mastered Anduril so when it does drop I’ll have no questions.
Oh yeah, DST coming up, long evenings are great for flashlighting!

I don’t know about you all, but I have other flashlights.
I still remain interested and will stay on this list because what is being offered is still very special and surprisingly affordable. I do hope that it comes to fruition (soon). But I do have other lights to use until that happens.

Do I need to explain myself further JWW?
Should be done by xmas next year, but at this rate…count on xmas 2020
Next xmas would work also. I am practicing patients. I want one bad, but I want a reliable working light.
I hope they take there time and get it right……..
I’m no longer holding out any hope for this Christmas. It was just going to be a present to myself anyway, not really important. I never thought it would stretch out this long though.
Well they’ve been working on it since May last year, so 18 months later plus however many more months ahead, it’d want to damn near perfection

Some mysteries are best left unsolved.

I’m in for one.

Google translate does a good job of translating into English.
AFAIK the FW3A is based on a custom design of his, described in the thread :“3000 Lumen EDC im Entstehen”
