I had plans of making a recoil light but after some defective mirrors showing up I lost a bit of mojo and other things took up my time. One of those things taking my time was getting fit for an annual MTB event
….and to make things even more fun my daughter is having issues with her MacBook tonight :weary:
Enyhoo… I put together some ingredients. It’s not going to be flash or special in any way. I just want to be apart of the competition this year
Yeh, definitely the more the merrier
I see a lot of others are making pretty renders of their creations. I’m not wired that way…. :student:
What I was trying to do last night (before apple issues stole my time) was edit this video of making the head. Since I’m a hobbyist that’s learnt from the wild web I’m open to constructive criticism :student:
Well spotted Moose. I’m trying out this new knurling wheel. The end product looks aggressive but it doesn’t feel like you’re holding a metal working file. This is the first time I’ve used it. The down side is this type of wheel is it cannot travel up and down the work piece. Knurl one section then disengage and knurl the next section.
That knurling is pretty. I didn’t notice it was any different until MRsDNF pointed it out. Now, I want all my flashlights to have that knurling.
Yes, it would need to be re-aligned but honestly I think it would be very hard to align it seamlessly. So I think grooves to partition each knurled section would be a better option. Much like this pic I found -
