I wanted to ask a question regarding the photo comparing your DRY NW to the KING. I don't know if your DRY has the auto-stepdown feature, so I ask this question with all respect. Is it possible your DRY stepped down from turbo to high mode without you realizing it?
I only ask because my DRY has the step-down feature and I nearly didn't catch the fact it had stepped down just prior to me taking my beam shots yesterday. Naturally I switched it back to turbo and then took my beam shot. Again, I mean no insult or disrespect to you, I was curious if this was possible when you took your photo. Great photos by the way!
That would have been a good explanation, but no. My DRY doesn't have the stepdown feature, as you can see in the ceiling bounce graph. My DRY was brighter only during the first 1s or something, it sags a bit after that.
That is a really nice looking light. I especially like that it has NO BATTERY CARRIER! Many other companies could follow suit but are too lazy to make the specialized curved battery container.
While looking at the pictures in DrJones' thread, I noticed that my NW King doesn't have the SkyRay King markings in the head. Good for me, since I think it looks way better without. :)
It's kind of funny that no one noticed it so far.
Maybe that's why I don't have the switch issues either.. ;)
Ps. I went for a walk yesterday and used the King for about 10 minutes continuously on high. Ambient temperature was about +3°C, so the King survived that runtime by being only mildly warm. I really like this light!
Similarly, the Balder SE-1 I received from CNQG had no markings (no branding) and there was even a used Ultrafire battery inside. I'm wondering if he sent a review sample.
It’s brighter, but tint depends on the person. Personally, I don’t like NW. Mine is from LightMalls (USD71 now) and it seems to be similar to 1C or 1A tint.
