Does lower resistance benefit boost/buck drivers?

I just changed my MF04 lead wires from 24AWG to shorter, thicker 20AWG leads and bypassed the carrier springs and head + spring and put new arctic silver on the MCPCB, cleaned connections and screws etc… so was the lower resistance portion of this just a waste of time being that it’s a boost driver? I haven’t really found a good answer expect for marginally better efficiency… any thoughts? And bonus question, anyone feel the need to tweak (up/down, not center) the centering ring for focus? Seems a quite tight beam stock. Thanks y’all.

Perhaps I meant to say regulated driver rather than boost, but I would think all boost drivers are regulated…

No, you did do a good thing.

You will be getting longer regulated runtime, slight more overall runtime, better lifespan of the LED, and even higher sustained output due to the better heat transfer to the body.

And you shouldn’t need to center the LED again, since it’s not an XHP35 HI and not a smaller emitter.
