FW3A, a TLF/BLF EDC flashlight - SST-20 available, coupon codes public

I have not been able to find out what bins they are using. Hopefully Kawiboy or Tom gets theirs before its necessary for me to order my lights.

They are really good at quick tear downs and thorough reviews. Toykeepers reviews are just as good but after bunnygate, clipgate and the mad rush to order lights that aren’t going to ship right away and will take weeks to deliver her enthusiasm may be a bit low.

When’s the last time a big light order happened here and the first batch was as good as the second batch?

That probably depends how the switch works. But how about either scenario? Will electroncis be damaged? Is there a fire risk since the 18650 has to be unprotected to fit?
I’ve just never seen electronics isolated only by an ano layer. Maybe they are both negative signals so it will just turn the light on or off when the switch circuit is closed to ground?

I’m also a bit surprised the two tint choices are 3000k and 5000k 70CRI. I was really hoping for a 4000k 90CRI but I’ll still buy one to use as a host for LH351D.

The light looks great and I am excited about the firmware.

Any chance i can still get in on the group buy? Looks great.

Thanks Kawi. My senses are a bit funny this morning :innocent:

I’m not sure. I asked Neal, and he’s still figuring out the details for that.

However, he says the SST-20 version will be $30 for people in the group buy. He just hasn’t figured out when it will be available to purchase, or how exactly the process will work.

I don’t have an FW3A, but I have modded a Sipik 58 a couple times to use a very similar connection scheme for a tailcap switch.

Short answer: If the anno is damaged and there is a direct short from the inner sleeve to the exterior body tube, the effect is the same as holding the button down permanently. Meaning the light would ramp up to max ramp and stay there.

On the up side there really isn’t any reason to remove the inner sleeve. So there shouldn’t be a lot of rubbing or friction. Chances of it getting damaged and shorting assuming it works out of the box are probably pretty low.

I finally made a donation thing. The link is in my signature where it says “Patreon”.

To be clear though, it’s a donation thing for me. I don’t know how to contact a lot of the original team, so I haven’t attempted to set up a team donation system.

Just enough room for one layer of kapton tape.

I have a strip of tape around the inner tube in all my earlier FW3A prototypes, because it was required to make the light reliable. However, I haven’t had any of those issues with the new production sample. It looks like the issues there were finally fixed.

I’d like an SST-20 when it becomes available. Can I get in for a second?

I’m okay with donating to just you if everyone else has abandoned ship

+15… :+1:

What number is up? I’m going to be in the middle of the night probably.

I see many post thanking ToyKeeper for all her work on this and many other projects here at BLF. Awhile back someone suggested she set something up so folks could help support her work considering what her work has meant to them. Recently, after being asked about it repeatedly, she finally set up an account with Patreon where folks can show their appreciation with donations for her contributions past and future. I suspect there are probably many that don’t know about this and Im confident self promoting is one of the few things TK is not good at.

Im not sure about anyone else, but I find it easy to take all she does for granted………… unless I think about it.

Please think about it, check the link out and turn anyone else on to it that may also be interested in showing their appreciation…… Really there should be a ‘Sticky’ for this ……. Why do I feel like she is fixin to backhand me?

I also would like to order one more once the high CRI version(s) are available. Thank you team!!!

You can do the math & get (real) close. You can take off a bit of time for multiple orders receiving only one PM notice.
The lower your number the less time you deduct.

The Math

Your list number x 95 seconds = _ seconds

seconds ÷ 3600 seconds = hours

The GROUP BUY went live at 14:00 Central time.

EDIT: Use your number on THIS NEW LIST provided by TK & you can calculate a fairly exact time your PM will come to you.

Oh hey, I finally got my notification. I can go buy one now.

(I forgot to take myself off the list before starting the script, oops)

It’s currently at 261 of 1544. You are 311 of 1544. So… coming up within a couple hours?

I was told there would be no math.

It is completely ’optional’.

Just ordered 1 Cree XP-L HI 3D
Thank You all who worked so hard on this AMAZING BLF & TLF project
:+1:
