That sst-40 test looks accurate enough, 4250 for the XHP50.2 is very close to what i’d expect a xhp70.2 to do in that form factor unless they go with an expensive driver but with probably double the CD.
Gonna heat up way too fast with an XHP70.2 too.
plus, 3v xhp50.2 is probably going to keep the cost WAY down.
Let’s see if I understand correctly, the XHP50.2 may have around similar lumens as the SST40, but will have a bit more floody (but smoother) beam pattern than the SST40. Also XHP50.2 may (or may not) have a nicer tint than the SST40?
SST40 at low brightness levels will look a bit yellow/greenish.
XHP50.2 beam tends to have a hotspot that’s cooler and a corona/spill area that’s somewhat warmer.
