Fins on mine are crisp as I would not go so far as to say they are sharp. Not sharp enough to cut skin but very aggressive.
A non-issue IMHO.
I just noticed the rattle …. with the battery installed and tapping the base sideways against my hand, I detect a slight rattle in the battery tube. Tube ID is slightly larger than the provided 26650 battery. I will install a shim of some sort if it becomes a nuisance.
LB, Man! You can write a review! It just increased my anticipation for mine to arrive!
I really like that the charge rate is one of the best for the USB rechargeables I've tested, ie.:
The cut-off voltage was 4.15V. It slowly ramped down the charge current before it terminated. I then dropped it in the Opus and added a few more mAh, ie:
This is going to be fun to have... at least until the next whizbang contraption comes out!
The red and white strobe alone makes the purchase worthwhile in my opinion.
Overall, yes this is a very enjoyable and useful light.
I’m happy to own one.
There didn’t seem to be very many available at Amazon, I wonder if this was a test batch, to see how sales would go.
Pretty sure any 26650 will fit. There are springs on both ends and each spring can compress about 1/4”.
For eaxmple- if I remove the tailcap, the battery is already below the end of the tube and can be pressed down about 1/4” deeper, if I unscrew the head, the battery is below the the tube and can again be pressed down about 1/4”
Lots of room for long batteries.
Thanks! I've stopped purchasing lights for a long time now unless something different comes along and this one fits the bill. Wish they would have gone with a deeper red, but 720nm isn't too bad. I even find the 730nm on my x80 a little on the orange side.
