I just snagged one of these on Ebay, Got the one that has the ceramic ball on the clip, can’t wait to get it, I might try and dye the bone scales a shade of brown or maybe have some custom wood scales made, Anyone knows who can do nice wood or micarta/G10/Carbon Fiber scales?
Thanks!

@AlexGT Making inserts won’t be a problem, sending the knives around the world twice would ruin and reasonable pricing though
My current edc knife is an example of something that can only be done by loving the work itself:
Selfmade CF on a sub-$20 knife? Insane? Maybe, but worth it
Or to grind a clip out of a chink of titanium? Insane isn’t even the right word
No pics of the green anodized orange peel version yet, sorry
By the way, I like my TwoSun TS51, too

Nice work Adahn! Your site is full of awesome!
I am currently considering a burl wood inlay like these
Honduran Rosewood Burl inlays
Ironwood inlays
African blackwood inlays, if I could dye the bone in this color I would be happy
Or maybe
Abalone inlays

@AlexGT Thank you Yes, I like to play with different stuff, esp. when I can make something pretty from stuff that’s just laying around
Atm I’m into leather stuff as you’ve seen but I also make an earring from a piece of .5mm Ti that wasn’t meant to be so thin when I ordered it
3 of 4 leafs and 1 of 2 blossoms are nearly finished, I hope I can get good anodized colors.
Wish me luck, it’s for my wife’s birthday. Not really matching with the necklace I made some time ago but well…

Got this Gerber/Fiskars Paraframe Mini on Amazon. I like the small form factor and low weight (40g), but unforunately the frame lock is really difficult to disengage. I think this is going to be a deal breaker for me. Not sure if they’re all like that or mine is just a dud.
Can you guys recommend something else in this form factor / weight / price?

A $10 40g framelock?
The two knives I own that are the closest would be the Kershaw Chill & Ka-Bar Mini Dozier. The Kershaw is longer and a little heavier (56g) while the Ka-Bar is lighter (31g) and roughly the same size but has a Zytel handle and back lock.

Thanks! That Ka-bar Mini looks interesting.

Some of the Mini Dozier reviews state that the the dull side of the blade is so sharp, you can easily cut yourself with it. Anyone confirm or deny?
Two other knives I’m considering in this size/price range:
Schrade SCH107ALOR
CRKT Pazoda Compact 6440KS
Any input on these two? Personally, I think I prefer liner lock on the Schrade over frame lock on the CRKT.

That’s an easy fix if the blade is not coated.

Don’t know about those, but concerning small folders, a SanRenMu 7010 or similar model (7049 in the pic below is a bit like the mini Paraframe) is a great choice

Thanks. Those SanRenmu knives are significantly heavier than the ones I was looking at.

The Mini I had didn’t have any issues along those lines. It was an early production one but I doubt they’ve changed things in the interim.
FWIW avoid the black blade, the coating wears away quickly.
Another option are the smaller Spyderco Byrd knives…the Finch, Robin & Meadowlark.
If you want to go old(ish) school, Gerber still makes the LST knives. I carried one of those for years back in the early 90s.

I ended up ordering the Schrade. Decent little knife for $11. Opening it one handed with a thumb stud is a bit of a struggle, but closing it is much easier.

My first VG-10 blade, the Kizer Kala (the brown handled knife), brand new out of the box
Below is the Thiers Liérande, french-made knife, 14C28N blade steel, with a good heat treat I would say, a very good slicer around the table.
Around ~45€ each

Nice ones. I’ve been eyeing the Lierande for a while but I don’t want to order from France.
And well, I want a clipped version

You mean, with a belt clip? Not likely to happen I think, unless you customize it yourself

They have plans for that, too.
This one seems a bit too bulky for me. It would be cool though if it was made (as it’s looking to me) of one piece together with the body.
