BTW, just to be clear to everyone — this discount is for “Massdrop” products only. I mistakenly thought it applies to the FIRST order on Drop Studio, regardless of product. I had gone with a knife and never saw the discount applied. I figured it would be retroactively applied at the time of the product ordering period ending, but then wrote to support to confirm… and then learned otherwise.
I already have a couple of copper flashlights, but looking at the other item choices decided to get this AAA flashlight in copper. Can’t beat it for just $10.66 shipped! I’m a little unsure of the UI and brightness. My Jetbeam-U has been so very handy… enough to unseat my old favorite Fenix L0D. But in any case, this can make a great gift item!
You have to create a new account and then Click on the link that’s been sent to your inbox, the discount is only applicable in Drop Studio items, which are mostly mechanical keyboards, non-budget knifes and enthusiast audio gear.
Not a fan of AAA lights or have never EDC’d one but $10 is a steal. There is also a CR123/RCR123 light for $60 that comes with a buck driver good for 1,000 lumens.
If you use them and change regularly they usually are okay, if they sit in an unused light for many months or years they usually leak and get stuck in the light or ruin the light. Try some eneloops.
I highly suggest you skip KZ. I was a big fan of them for years, had KZ everything, their ATE, ZS3, ZS5, ZST, basically I spent over $100 on these crappy headphones, the replaceable cables and BT cables. Just buy some MH755, or MH750. I bought 10x off https://www.ebay.com/sch/rwtf3024/
Trust me, they are way better sounding than any KZ can ever be. They are asymmetrical and the MH755 needs an extender or to be resoldered, but trust me, KZ is flawed these are perfect sounding. That wire on the KZ is noisy as hell too.
Eneloop, Duracell, or Ikea ones. If you use alkaline, you can use an acid like vinegar or lemon juice to clean it up. It is not the end of the world if that happens, it can be fixed. Eneloops and Ikea ones are the same, I think some duracells are nicknamed duraloops because they are the same as well.
Very interested! Does it affect other modes too? How similar is it to the Glaree E03 driver? https://jetplow.org/2018/07/14/glaree-e03-teardown-mini-review/
I’m interested in one of these for hat brim use, so I would get the aluminum, if the discount would apply to it, but the discount only applies to the copper and Ti versions. Lighter weight is better for hat brim use.
Between those two, I’m leaning toward the Ti for the lighter weight, but copper heat sinks so much better.
Are the runtimes and the functionality of the Ti version as good as the copper, or is the copper a much better performer?
After picking the material, then I’d have to chose between the XP G2 R5 and 219 emitters. Since I would actually be using this as a tool to see with it clipped to my hat brim inside my truck topper or under the hood of a vehicle, etc., I’m torn between the high CRI, but low output of the 219 or the low CRI, but much higher output of the XP G2 R5.
The titanium isn’t expected to ship until mid January.
