Panny-B, laptop pulls, doesn’t really matter, as it’s <3A even in its beefiest off-the-rack version.
I use the Sanyo GAs.
S2+ Sst40 is 5 amps
Okay, but I don’t think he was using a ’40.
5A in a S2+? That’s a curling iron…
I’d assume that any store claiming that, is probably selling fakes.
I contacted him and asked him about that “certification”. He sent me a document which contains detailed technical specifications and guidelines about safe use, charging, storage of the battery. A user’s manual actually, which doesn’t prove in any way the authenticity of the product.
Yeah, so he pulled a spec-sheet off the Internet. Proves nothing, except he’s trying to pull something over on unknowledgeable buyers.
I just got my S2+ SST40, what battery should I get, anything that has more than 5A will work ? protected or unprotected ?

18650GA
protected or unprotected depends on how confident u feel of never having a brain fart
For protected make sure the circuit can handle 8+ amps
Keeppower rewraps a few suitable ones

Ordered an unprotected 30q and now I’m scared
No those cut off at 3 amps, u want 8amp + cutoff at least
The protected keeppower 18650GA from ilumn should work fine
The 30q will work fine though its a waste in that light
Follow the basic safety rules
When vaping, safety is a top priority. Learn the basics of 18650 battery safety and see what not to do in order to avoid any injury or damage.

Thats great info, thank you again, I know I’m a noob but its weird that the cut off spec isnt listed…
Those keepower are BO on illumn, and illumn charges like 40$ shipping to canada
The non usb fenix 18650 3500mah will work fine as well though its not cheap in canuckistan
Or just use unprotected and dont screw up

I’ve bought a couple of battery orders from illumn in the past year, the last one a few months ago. Shipping was always around $15 or $16 to Canada. Have they recently jacked up the price that much? If so, it’s probably not worth buying there again. That $2 surplus per cell (I usually order 8 cells), suddenly jumps to $5 per cell!
One last thing and plz correct me if I’m wrong. Both button and flat top can be used in s2+ but a button top would have more tightest fit. Any other difference?
I’m going to use that flashlight in my bike. Especially for bike use, wouldn’t be better to have that tightest fit (so less movement of battery inside the flashlight)?
If you don’t fully trust the store you can buy from Nkon instead, prices are a bit cheaper but shipping from Netherlands may be a bit higher.

It’s possible that the button top might have a tighter fit, but I’ve never noticed a difference on my road bike between button and flat top 18650s in the S2. Convoy uses what appear to be high quality and stiff springs. I’ve had them knocked off my bike at 20 mph (using the wrong mount in a pinch) and hit concrete, and still not even change modes. I don’t remember if that particular incident was a flat or button top.
If u want the tightest fit get a protected button top
