Iām in for a couple. Very interesting and fills a need for many. In addition to the grandmaās of the world, I feel like this is aimed at young budding flashoholics who love Dadās (or Momās) lights, just that none are child friendly.
Well done djozz, looking forward to more information as it becomes available.
Iām afraid that there is nothing yet but specifications. On request of Barry yesterday I made a first structural drawing of how this light could be built and sent it to him. At a later stage I may post the drawing but I must first get the comments of this design back from Sofirnās engineers, discussing something that will not happen anyway is not so useful.
Good question, it depends on how Sofirn picks this up. If they decide for the infinitely variable ring (it requires a different fairly expensive, more than a dollar, magnetic sensor component, and designing the control for it what they have not done before), it is not far from a 18650 version of the RRT-01, albeit with a bit lower output. If they stick to distinct modes (which is electronically different, probably cheaper and already known to them), it may not look to you like the RRT-01. Mind that the distinct modes outcome is still very much within the scope of this project, for the project I would be happy with that (but I do hope a bit for the variable control because that attracts an extra category of buyers). I hope for a few answers after chinese newyear.
