I’d say either remove pictures of specific lights, and have a logo or graphic designed banner, or have BLF designed/organised lights on show to new visitors. Maybe a poll/vote for which lights should be included.
I’ll second that. I think it would be great to have some of the newer lights that were born from BLF.
On the other hand, I been around here for awhile and understand that some things become part of the history of this place and are hard to let go to some of us old timers.
I just feel like that to keep up to date for new members the more recent BLF project lights would be more appropriate.
I’ll third it - that’s a good idea - maybe make a new one which includes the old ones (although I’m not fussed either way) then it might please everyone. I’m sure someone on here owns one of those 3 if more photo’s were needed (at same angle etc)
Well, two out of three are even from before my time, I guess. I go straight to “recent posts” so basically I don’t care. But I can imagine when you tell someone about BLF, and he/she comes to homepage, he/she might get a bit confused. Because this is Budgetlightforum, not Cheapoldlightforum.
Quality of BLF is A-OK, but the first impression might need an update.
I suggest the FW3A, the LT1 and one of the prizewinning creations of our top modders
Yeh, that’s kinda the point. The SRK was a pioneer in that sense. The ’68 was one of the first cheap-but-good lights (even if shamelessly watered-down even more, later). The X6 is still almost revered by a lot of people.
It’d be like trying to “freshen” the penny by giving Lincoln a mullet in the ’70s, high-hair in the ’80s, or a pair of hipster Warby-Parkers today.
