✌ FREEME - ASTROLUX MF05 SBT90.2 7000lm 3000m+ Thrower Searchlight - $390 (restocked) + Free Charger

Any suggestion for a 21700 battery? What brand, flat top or button top, and what capacity and current capability?

It’s just for the fan, so high capacity makes sense. Current capability is not a factor. Brand is not a big deal.

Freeme will have to answer the rest based on what physically fits.

Is it just me or do the pictures on BG make it look like the reflector is slightly orange-peel textured? I must not be seeing it correctly, for a light like this.

Order placed. Thank you.

The reflection shows faint traces of the machining. It will not be mirror perfect when it’s this large.

I am out

To heavy, to long,venti

but still a great light .

7500 Lumen;Where they are come from ?

Regards Xandre

7500 lumens rating is pushing it. Maybe it's a higher bin? In djozz's test, his limit was 20 amps, but I don't see the LED peaking much above 5500 lumens at the max.

Actually I found a gen 3 datasheet here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JB32vdU60H_S6cMCuwjubYWGjUKUr-wI/view, posted by Jared originally, here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/60686/25. djozz tested the SA bin and there's 5 higher bins on the sheet, in fact SA is the second lowest.

Yeah, Texas_Ace says the SBT-90.2 in the GT90 (uses similar FET driver and 8 x 18650 cells) maxes out at a bit over 5000 lumen. Lumintop also did an exaggerated lumen spec of 7000. I guess it’s just marketing.

Just ordered. Thank you Freeme!

Jason is probably right about the marketing spin.

I'd add a 10-15% for bump from our calibrated lumens to "manufacturer's" lumens. But still interesting a higher bin SBT90.2 should go from 5,000 to 7,074 based on scaling up the bin from SA to UB. SA to UB should increase lumens by 41.47%.

Thank you for your support!

Might get another next week :money_mouth_face:

Thanks Freeme. I ordered one yesterday. It was the 18th light.
I hope they done a good job on the big Reflektor.

Robert

Thank you Freeme. Just order now. I was Number 23 flashlight.

I can see getting this one day but I dont feel like beta testing it. I bought the MF04S for $140. I would probably pay $30 more for the MF05.

7500 lumens is exaggerated. So far, Hank sourced the highest bin of the SBT90.2 I’ve seen, which is still the 3rd lowest bin and doesn’t even make 5,000 lumens in a host without de-lidding. I don’t believe any bin above that is available on the market.

I think it would be a great host for white Flat or old style xp-g2 dedomed. You always can do a rebuild when you want to sell it. I hope I get a good reflektor without any issues.

Robert

Matt Smith measured 4970 lumens at 30s on the GT90 so a higher bin could probably do 5500 and more at turn on but yh the output is exaggerated.

I would be happy if it is able to achieve 6000lm.
