if you are removing the battery and adding wires to measure things, that may be throwing the charging off
also if you stop and restart a cycle (esp when it is finished) that may throw it off also
maybe what it really wants is to
a. start with a discharged cell (somewhat)
b. charge from there to 4.13V
if you restart it already at 4.13, that might throw it off
but it should always be checking for 4.20 and never go over that
if you have extra wires, that may uncalibrate the voltage or current readings it is taking during the cycle.

That’s good to hear. Would be interested to re-test the Wuben C3, but I’m unable to order from Amazon…

“… the TIRE to has a round spot” What does this mean?
The spill with the previous TIR has a square shape... more like 3 corners and a rounded 4th. The spot is round and nice. I should take a picture. ..
I have a new one inbound for Monday.

Still confused on that comment.
I have a C3 bought about 6 weeks back. Guessing it’s got this over-charge “feature”
I do like the light though (despite the 2600mAh “protected” battery- wass’up with that?). Still a nice throw for it’s small form factor. I’ll just charge via the Zanflare Vs. the internal USB port anyway. Also prolly’ use a Q30 or something a bit more modern battery wise.
I would be too. I posted a picture above so the outer and inner spot IS round and it's just that outer TIR artifact, aka. spill, I think, what some commenters find detracting.

I just pulled mine out and see the “square bottomed” spill as your pic shows… looks like a “flat tire”
— thanks for that effort Nach!

Sorry to make your confused.
The first stocks of C3 has a square spot. But our tech guys has solve this issue by upgrade the TIRE to make the spot round rather than square.

Olights i1r2 does the same square spill. I thought that would indicate a good alignment of LED and optics.

Just a shout out here to Wuben for standing behind the MANY great lights they sell. :+1: :+1: :+1:
I personally own a C3 (and smaller C5- 14500) bought this last year. BOTH nicely designed lights with excellent finishes (several colors). The C3 had issues with overcharging (see this post a few months back). It also had a slight misalignment problem with the reflector/led. As I bought the light on Black Friday I figured I (kinda) got what I paid for, BUT when I asked them about it they INSISTED on replacing my C3.
In fact, SEVERAL Wuben reps contacted me to insure I was happy. Very professional, honest, and straight-up about the C3 problem and wanting to make it right.
I was a fan, and now I’m a BIG fan of Wuben… and I can see more of their lights in my future.

I got the Wuben C3 from Banggood before (which has the overcharging issue, which I am more concerned about).
I also did notice the "flat-tire" beamshot when shining the C3 on a wall, but I think not too noticeable in actual use..
In my Youtube beamshot video below, I made this comment in the description, about the "square-shaped" beam pattern for the Wuben C3:
1) reflector:
Wuben L50S uses SMO reflector
Wuben C3 uses TIR optic
(comment: when at near distances up to around 2 meters or ~8 feet away, on a white flat surface, the C3's beam displays some square beam pattern)
I'll try to make another beamshot of the new Wuben C3, IF I can be assured of getting the new version (I am unable to order from Amazon).
