The discharge curves looks good, they track nicely and the battery can deliver about 2A with protection tripping a bit above 5A

Conclusion
This 16340 (RCR123) looks good, it can deliver some current and has good capacity. The protection makes it applicable for many devices, as long as it will fit (it is slightly longer than a CR123 cell).

I got me several of these Klarus 16340 batteries recently and they performed as well as the Fenix ARB-L16-700 on a run time test that I did………….which up until now, the Fenix was the exclusive 16340 battery that I would buy. Comparing the chart of battery info that HJK has done with that of the Fenix 16340 they are very similar. I think the Fenix and also the Klarus 16340 batteries as the two best 16340 batteries that I’ve seen. With the Klarus being less expensive, that kind of makes it my go to 16340 battery now.

Grateful for all the work and contribution HKJ has done over the years. It’s been very helpful for me. If it wasn’t for the test and review of the Klarus, I probably would not have purchased as many as I did the past week with Black Friday and Cyberweek. And probably would have only purchased one just to try out before risking any $ on more.

Right now very pleased with the Klarus 16340.

Hello, I have a (maybe stupid) question. I have the version of this battery with a usb-port. Would it be possible to charge a device via the micro-usb port if the battery is fully loaded? Could be usful as a mini powerbank then... I would like to try, but I am hesitant to mess up my battery or the device by just connecting w/o having a clue... Thanks! utor

Hello utor. If I understand the question correctly you want to use the battery which has a charging port also as an output. That won’t work because that USB port is an input only for charging that battery only and doesn’t have the capability to also output power out it. Hope that helps.

Thanks a lot for that fast and helpful answer! Then I have to think about another solution… Smile
