【New Product】XTAR T2 pocket light

Whats the UI? Why can’t manufacturers list the freakin’ UI on the product page. :person_facepalming: It’s an e-switch, so there’s no excuse not to have a good UI with shortcuts to moon and turbo. The form factor looks good, silly battery aside. Offer it with a good high CRI LED or at least don’t glue it shut so we can swap it ourselves.

Dump the Stobe its ridiculous, substitute with hidden Turbo. Make low 15 med 60 high 130. No PWM No Memory. 219c or SST-20 4000k

controversal model. built in charge + replaceable battery is strong side. But WHY 10380? it totally has no advantage over 10440. i hope UI is not sort o of sh*tfires.

suppose such castrated battery will be deal killer for lots of people.

I like everything but the built in charger and oddball battery. Would make a good light for my dad.

When the light is off, long press the switch to turn on, and single click to change lighting levels for standard mode: Low /Mid / High. Click twice to enter moonlight mode, and single click to change moonlight level: Low /Mid / High. Click 3 times to enter Strobe mode. And long press to turn off.
For lock function, click 5 times to switch-lock, and green indicator blinks once it locks; Click 5 times again to unlock, and enter standard low mode.

Now this T2 is available on our aliexpress store, and there is the link: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002730993220.html

10380, why?

6lm - 4lm - 2lm are NOT the true moonlight modes :person_facepalming:

10380, why? Sorry, XTAR - but very confusing. Design looks nice though.

£36.66 shipping to UK!!! For the cheapest shipping option
That’s A total of £80.62 with Ali fees

I love the design, on board charging, fuel gauge.

UI, LED, moonlight levels and the price - not at all.

There’s something terribly wrong with that webpage… It quotes US $45.99 for the light, and another US $50.53 for shipping to Thailand, i.e. ‘2 doors down the road’. That’s US $96.52 total, a steal! :smiling_imp:

We in the UK also have to pay 20% Tax which Aliexpress charges us therefore $114.63.

I really like some some aspects of this light, but I’m still going to skip it.

Positive:

  • I really like the looks, and although I suspect it’s probably a plain grey I would be very happy if it had the purple tint I see in some of the pictures.
  • Single AAA lights are my preferred EDC so the size and shape are good.
  • The clip attachment is excellent.
  • Although tailcap magnets are controversial I love them, even in a pocket EDC light.
  • Built in charging is great - I like being able to quickly top up the cell when I’m at my desk.
  • Although the cell is non-standard, at least it’s theoretically replaceable.

Neutral:

  • 10380 cell - it’s annoying, but probably easier to replace than a a RovyVon cell.
  • ‘Moonlight’ modes - sure I would prefer lower modes, but I get by with my single-mode SF-348 most of the time.

Negative:

  • That UI! :confounded: It’s not the worst UI in the world but for something in my EDC rotation I want it to either be simple or familiar (e.g. Anduril) and this is neither. I don’t think I’ve come across anything like it, and some aspects seem to go against convention (like double-click for moonlight rather than turbo). I can’t imagine most muggles would find the UI simple either.
  • Price - even assuming the AU $90 postage is an error, a AAA-size EDC light would have to be pretty incredible for me to pay AU $60 for it.

I think Xtar has received a fairly negative reaction to some of their recent product announcements on BLF, and I appreciate that they’re continuing to engage with the forum.

Could it be a cylindrical LiPo to save the space and weight of a can?

$50 shipping to the US? Ouch.

And the UI doesn’t sound great… We’ll see when the reviews are in I suppose.

Wow, same pricing to get it to the US

The T1 is free shipping, but it’s $35. Wpuld rather get the jetbeam

let me review it XTAR!

i am a XTAR fan from WK42 days
though mine broke, annoyingly

anyway
do not like 10380, charge port or price
so far!

does it tail-stand?
looks like no

why… that nice mini toy flashlight out there always makes me think twice for the price
