Finally a good review. This in a 21700 version would be amazing. Hopefully soon.

I was one of the people who voiced the opinion that this should be a 21700 light. After having it for over a week now I have to say it is excellent as is. The size is more conducive to carrying. That said I would have to buy one in 21700 if available. Thumbs Up

i thought the same exact thing until I got mine. Now I. Glad it's in 18650. Honestly. For me, I don't require long battery life because I'm never in a situation where I use batteries til the end (like in work situations like some people), so now that I have my dt8 I would GLADLY sacrifice the 1400mah (p26a vs P42a) in battery life for the compact size of the 18650 dt8. That's just me though, I can understand people that need the battery life wanting to see this in a 21700 form factor. I just realize now I'm glad Hank made it in 18650 for now.

Great video Andreas, thank you! I have the dt8 xpl-hi 8a, and the FireFlies e07x pro in sst20 4K and 5k. I wish I had them both in same emitter to compare, but given what I do have, the dt8 is brighter. but I realize that is bc of the xpl-hi vs sst20.

also my xpl-hi dt8 does not show any rings in the beam like the sst20 5000k seem to have in these animated beam shot pictures. Xpl-hi is just a nice smooth beam. Does that show in real life?

Thanks for all your work. I think I need a Noctigon K9.3 now.

I like the DT8 but its too small for me. Would love to see the same style with 16x LEDs & 21700 Big Smile

i was thinking even 12x leds (3 x 4 rows instead of 2 x 4 rows) would be awesome too. Lol

My DT8 arrived today, mix E21A 2000K/2700K.

Smooth beam, temp somewhere between, CRI seems to be as good as a D4V2 E21A 2700K.  In other words, perfect.

I like the 18650 size - fits most of my pockets smile

Great job Andreas! Been reading your review in TLF. I see you bought the XPL-Hi version also. Which one do you prefer?
