That is because of international tax laws. If I buy directly from Maxtoch, customs (PostNL) will charge me 21% VAT PLUS a handling fee, before it will be delivered to me. Ali will charge VAT, but no handling fee.
I emailed maxtoch, long tube is not compable with e-switch head.
Also they use cslnm1.tg over culnm1.tg because it tested better for them. Maybe it’s the slightly cooler temperature.
I’ll be ordering one once I finish testing the fireflies t9r, maybe that driver will be able to match this model’s seemingly perfect thermal sustain.
I reached out to Maxtoch to see what the discount code will be. Currently, there are not yet enough paricipants to get anything close to below $100 unfortunately.
And since there is a holiday goig on in China, I expect to hear back in a couple of days.
From the graph it seems that we only get the maximum candela upon switching on. I don’t think that is a step-down, because what kind of light would give a step-down within 10 seconds of operation. Could that be serious voltage sag that usually comes with single cell configuration?
Would be more interested in the 2-cell + buck driver version, which could possibly run at the highest mode more sustainably.
Many models begin stepdown upon activation, remember the ANSI standard only requires 30 sec and on most models it’s already on its way down at that point.
Just got my package, ordered 2.5 weeks ago. Spot is a bit brighter than w2 k1. Ramping is a bit funky, fast down low and very slow at the top. Mechanical switch is very firm. Will have a video comparison up by the end of the month.
