LOOKING FOR: budget, good 18650 flashlight. Help.

Hii everyone. I haven’t been active in here for more than a couple years, so don’t know if any new, awesome, BUDGET, lights have been developed.

I’m looking for flashlights for a few friends in security. I previously bought Convoy C8’s, and 3 years ago, some Thorfire lights.

Cost MATTERS,because with shipping, customs,Vat etc, I easily pay twice the price for the light in the end.

Do you have any suggestions in the $15 or less range? I may need as much as 10 lights so if there are manufacturers or supplies in here that’s easy to communicate with, please point me in the right direction.

More throw is better, and of course, good flashlight design WRT heatsinking, water resistance etc, ( similar quality to C8,) is king.

Thaaanks guys.

My gratitude to those who are willing and able to help others (in whatever way you can)! Being human is more than just existing for yourself. Smile

IMHO, the absolute best 18650 based light under $15 is The S2+. Actually , if you can wait a bit and search, you can get it for under $10.

Check out the Convoy and Sofirn stores on AliExpress.

If you want cheap throw, check out the C8 variants.  :THUMBS-UP:

For under $15 and similar to the Convoy C8 with throw and water resistance the primo pick is with out a doubt going to be the Convoy S2+.

You can find it here, select your tint, then black or gray, and then select 7135x8, and it's $14.40 shipped w/o tax -

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32969287656.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_groupList.8148356.2.5be514f2Jlwy9U

and here select U2-1A and 7135x8 for $14.88 w/o tax -

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/826041411.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_groupList.8148356.4.5be514f2Jlwy9U

If you can afford more than $15 then get more of what you already have.... the C8.

Don't forget, this is Simon's Convoy store so order as many as you like.  AND don't forget to use the Convoy Flashlight Fans Facebook code of 3FXJJ6OB49JE to get 10% off your total. Hopefully this will help make up some for the tax you'll be charged. You can find his Facebook page here -

https://www.facebook.com/ConvoyLights   for any updates to his discount codes and new products.

Ok. So Simon still domainates the high quality/ budget range. Smile

I’ll check AliExpress.
At Fasttech i can get 10x C8’s at $16.66 ea. ( Is there a discount code for FT? )

The S2+ range is definitely cheaper. I’ll ask if they want something with less throw, but, personally, I prefer, and think that more throw is better.

Thank you. Racoon ( haven’t seen your avatar fo ao long!, and thank you max for the links! )

The discount code for FT is BLF .... i think it gets 3% but don't remember for sure since i try to avoid FT since they f*cked up 6 of my orders earlier this summer and 1 order is still "intransit" after 100+ days and FT absolutely refuses to refund my $26 since "it's still in your country". Whereas if your order doesn't arrive in 60 days from AE they will refund your money, instantly, no questions asked. But FT doesn't charge tax last i ordered from them. Others have had no problems with FT with their orders. So roll the dice and take your chances. It's up to you.

Thank you! With the 10% discount code you provided, buying from Simon is $2 less lol. I’ve also messaged him to see if buying parts and assembling myself would be even less.

I've looked into this myself more than once. In all instances it is cheaper to buy the complete light than assemble from parts. Just like a car or truck. The whole is always less money than the individual pieces.

GOODNESS GRACIOUS!! 18650 prices have SKYROCKETED due to this pandemic!!

Is there any cheap, US source for original 18650 cells? i know litokala had fakes not too long ago. Illumn, com has enough cells in stock but, a better price is always good!

With your location being Trinidad and Tobago that means international shipping.

Have you tried looking at this post here:

Here’s another that may be of interest for security work…
I don’t own one yet, but I’ve been considering this Police style flashlight by Alonefire for $14:

Alonefire TK700

Has hidden USB port, and dual switches/separate switch for strobe, looks very similar to a Nextorch P80
