Striped or Beaded Lenses for Widest Beam

I’m looking to turn one of my Convy S2+ flashlights into a handlebar-mount trail riding light and want as wide a horizontal beam as I can get with an off-the-shelf lens and as little modification as possible. I’m looking at all the options on the Convoy store and can’t tell which would be the best choice. I see striped lenses at 10x45, 20x60, and 30x60 degrees but not sure what the first number means. I assume the second number is angle and 60 is wider than 45.

Then there are beaded lenses that I found go up to 85° but I wonder if that’s in a circle or will give me the wide horizontal beam that I want.

Anyone test these out and have any insight? TIA

LEDsupply has ’em, and you can get striped 20mm TIR lenses for cheap. Might need to make a minimum order to get free shipping, or pay a few bux if not, though. Hang on…

They work. Nice elliptical beam. If you want a reeeeeeeeeally wide but short beam like foglights, a TIR won’t cut it. In fact, nothing will short of some rather deep-cut optix which need more than a 20mm circle to fit.

Might want to consider the Lumintop B01 if you can find one. Nice shaped beam from a side-firing reflector.

Thanks for the lead. I want to get one of those Carclo since they’re not too pricey to try out and it won’t take weeks to get.

BTW, the Lumintop has a $16 off coupon on Amazon at the moment if anyone is interested. I have too many lights to be able to add more. I know, I blaspheme.

Or use D-C-Fix?

Sure, if you want to piss off everyone (walking/biking/driving) that you come across.

You want a wide beam but with a sharp cutoff up-top.
