Yes, I need to purchase a certain amount of LEDs for the final production batch if I want to be able to get lower prices(obviously) and guaranteed tint binning.
The GT-FC30 and GT-FC60 can be 6/12V depending on the MCPCB in the final production, which is another reason to pick them over the currently available FC40.
While I’m excited at the prospect of either, I have several XHP70.2 lights that don’t see use because I don’t like the XHP70.2. I will definitely buy 6V GT FC60s.
I think people are choosing the GT-FC60 because with 6V it would be a direct swap for the XHP70.2. Also, most XHP70.2 with 90CRI are slightly green and the R9 is not very high. If the GT-FC60 really comes with a negative Duv and a better efficiency than the GT-FC40 it will be my new favourite 7070 led.
I would have a few flashlights for a GT-FC60 in 6V. 6V drivers are more common than 12V drivers.
For example, I have a reflector for eight XHP70 and with the GT-FC60 in 6V I can use it instead of the XHP70.2 and get a beautiful tint.
Maybe if the two future group buys are successful and BlueSwordM has time later we could also run a group buy for the GT-FC30?
I’ve got to decided until I make the order, but looks like we’re going with the FC60 after all
I mean, it’s fine, I can perfectly understand wanting the R9080 FC60 over the R9070 FC30: the improved dynamic range offered by such an LED is considerable.
However, my envy for the FC30 is still greater, so I’ll open the GB a bit later than I wanted so we can finally decide(after the samples are tested obviously).
