Up for sale is a 3AA Mini-Maglite. Well, it's actually two of the 2AA modded to make a 3AA. I started out with two Red Minis and cut both barrels, so that I could get 3AA NiMHs in. I used the same method that I use on all of my cut downs, to put the barrels together. I added my copper heat sink and an XM-L T6. I am not sure of the flavor, it looks like about 600K-6500K, but I can't swear to it. I put in a 30 degree TIR optic and did a little polishing here and there.
Body Seam
The lip on the bezel has been flattened, to hold the TIR better.
The second head
The second head now becomes the holder for tail standing & Display.
Beam Shots - All shots are ISO 100, F:2.7 Daylight WB. The shutter speeds are noted beneath each photo.

As you can see, this thing is very bright with 3 NiMHs. I am guesstimating a conservative 600 lumens+.
The light gets Hot - It gets Hot Fast. In 30 seconds, the head is warm. In a minute the head is hot and the body is warm. In under 5 minutes, (closer to 4), it's too hot to leave on. It scares me...
I measured the amp draw at the tail cap at 3.1 amps, with 3 eneloops. The warmer it gets, the brighter it gets.
