Hey all, what up! Just another new guy. I have been lurking for a while looking to buy something fun. Thanks for all the great info. I made my first purchase the other day. I bought a Fandyfire Rook ($28.90). I’m an E-cig guy who makes mods from the ground up. So I have been into batteries (and soldiering) for a while (about 4 years give or take). I have also bought thousands of items from Alibaba over the years. (shopping is half the fun right?)
I went with the Rook because I have a boatload of 14500’s around. (something like a hundred still not opened) Having switched over to mostly 18650’s this year I figured I would put them to some kind of use.
Next order will be for a 18650 something cheap though. I almost bought a Ultrafire C8 TC for $5.79 (give or take a few cents) the other night from KaiDomain but by the time I found my credit card they were sold out. (oh well I want the new U3 anyway) Well no, I actually wanted the T6 for under $6.
Well anyway thanks for the cool site, I’m sure to be around as I already feel that little monkey on my back whispering in my ear telling me I need more flashlights.
Do quite a bit of research before you decide what light will best suit your particular needs .
You will need a thower , a flooder , an EDC , a headlamp , a keychain light and at least one flashlight you buy just because it looks really cool . Or several .
Then buy a whole lot more flashlights . If necessary , invent new needs for your flashlights .
Get into modding flashlights when you realize that there are no commercially available lights that are perfect for you .
Listen carefully to what I have to say, Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee now before its to LAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
Welcome! I suggest buying complete lights and using them. Modding them is fun, but boy is it addictive (ie. expensive), especially when you are able to program your own drivers.
