Thanks for the kind words, just took some pictures of the pill and added it to the first OP.
I would like to add that there is some regulation since the light was about 60% as bright with one AA and a spacer.
Since LED’s have a relatively narrow Vf, if there wasn’t regulation, the LED wouldn’t have turned on.
How did they manage to build a single mode light with protruding clicky and NOT make it a forward clicky. Seems like a light like this screams for a forward clicky.
Both of my non-working Saik SA-125 2AA lights have a switch that looks exactly like this one, they are 16mm in diameter.
Both dont work, both reverse clickies.
This was the second LED flashlight I’ve bought, back then I didn’t know anything about diodes, batteries or anything. Just discovered DX and ordered.
I keep one of these in my car with Eneloops just in case I need a flashlight with at least couple of hours runtime. And last weekend it turned out I needed one. Still worked like a charm - no flaws or whatsoever, not even high temperature on the host. Nice beam, nice switch, very reliable. Possibly the best AA flashlight for the money.
I also have the black version with Q5, which is considerably worse - not brighter, worse switch, uglier, getting hot.
