I have the TF flames too, two are good 2 are bad fakes… So I decided to go for something more reliable.
I also have tested the soshine LiFePo but they had a low capacity…
There isn’t a very wide selection of choices when it comes to 14500 The Nitecore listed above is probably best I seen so far, but I use the trustfire flames, just because they are better value, listed as “900mah” but actual capacity is around 650mah
^After reading posts like that one, I wonder why I keep posting links to discharge graphs. What is your "I think" based on? The name and the high prices?
Nitecore, Keeppower, Enerpower, Intl Outdoor, Zebralight all use Sanyo UR14500P and are superior to the one from AW.
Ha ha no, sorry to offend you. I am frustrated by incomplete or misinformation as much as anyone. It was actually based on what I remember from discharge tests and some other info, but it could of course be incomplete and not based on all the facts.
In my post I did actually mention Zebralight, Intl-outdoor (and keeppower by association as intl-outdoor cells are keeppower OEM but I have never seen keeppower 14500 at retail), as better than the Nitecore and AW cells. So from your post the only one I missed out was enerpower, which aren’t all that common…
Where did you get info to suggest that Nitecore 14500s have 840mah UR14500p inside? They are only rated at 750mah like the AWs…
Btw, I have an AW 14500 and it only cost me $7.50 a year or so ago. So the price was actually lower than any of the others bar Nitecore at fasttech! Much cheaper than enerpowers…
If no one posted which brand of cells contained the Sanyo UR14500P how would you know which one to buy.
The I think comes from what we have seen and remember from the past, A newer higher capacity cell could have come out between the last time I checked and today. So I think means, it was the last time I looked.
And don’t forget the Orbtronic 14500. It contains the same UR14500P Sanyo cell, the wrap and pcb (and price) being the only difference in all the UR14500P cells listed here.
OP now you have a whole list of cells to choose from, with the 840mah UR14500P cell. Its always good to know which brands contain the best cells. One of them is always cheaper even though its the same cell inside.
