Fantastic support isnāt it. To answer your question, no, I donāt have any control panel. Just a barebones CentOS 6 shell. For that reason, I might have a few questions in the near future for PilotPTK about my httpd.conf.
SB You should really consider building/buying a NICE server (8Gb+ RAM, SSD, Intel Xeon or i5) and then just having it hosted. There's a place less than 5 miles from my house that has Burstable Gigabit connections, 100MB guaranteed, 2TB/Month of Transfer, Battery and Generator Backup, Security, the works.. For a Mid-Tower or 1U Rack Server.. $50 per month.
Then you control the hardware.. Need more RAM? Ship two sticks of DDR3 to them and they'll install it in your box for you. Small tasks like that they usually do free of charge.
Iām having trouble with it now too. Iāve rebooted it a few times now. I suspect that it needs to have the maintenance tasks run after that heavy load, and I canāt run them because of a configuration problem on this testbed.
OK, I think I managed to run the maintenance task, at least partially. It seems to be running quite fast. Now if everyone could please try to navigate around it and send PMs and get a feel for the ānormalā load performance.
Well, I do have access to a 200 gigabit/sec direct internet backbone link (but via a 1 gig/sec net connection). It would probably not be couth to unleash that on the poor beastie.
Cool, please keep poking around and let me know how it behaves.
Iāll probably be switching BLF over to this new hosting provider and infrastructure. Unfortunately this issue came up on a really really busy week for me, so I might not be able to migrate the site over until early next week. Meanwhile, please excuse the exasperating slowness of the current production BLF site and stick around for the upgrade.
