Tested using Convoy S2 6xAMC7135 2 group driver
How about convoy S2? on that store you could choose Cool White / Neutral White emitter. I suggest to take max with 6 x AMC7135, during my runtime test it's get really hot on high mode that you can't comfortably hold it on your hand.
Pro's (+):Pocket clip could be purchased separately, Tail Stand even with forward switch but a bit unstable, anodized thread so you can do lockout, anodized is great, best bang for the buck
Con's (-): Knurling just aesthetic quite slippery does not provide good traction, pill made from brass which is having worst heat transfer compared with aluminum and copper, heat sink is not large enough to handle more than 2,1A current.
well,the convoy s8 looks fantastic…i like,if it is more special-the s3 and s2 are just tubes:)
this looks more aggressive…shame, that its so long…but, probably my fave from your ideas…i dont understand, why only aliexpress is selling it? i didnt found it on fasttech.,…
The seller on aliexpress is the manufacturer. It's a brand new model and very few of us have had our S8 orders delivered yet. Fasttech might carry it later.
so my recommendation for the smallest and brightest single 18650 xml pocket rocket is
Eagletac TX25C2 which is a xml2 pocket rocket. i had reviewed it earlier. 1000 Fenix lumens. see also selfbuilt's lumens tables, he had the xml2 NW neutralwhite model.
I listed all the parts in that linked review (?). The Nanjg driver is this: fasttech 8-amc7135, and the emitter is an XM-L2 U2, but not sure what bin 1A or 1C - might be a fake one from KD or good one from IS.
In the the examples brother and I own the difference is even more. Brother owns the latest Sc600 MKII. It tested out at 800 lumens at 30 sec. In the same lightbox and with same meter, my TX25C2 tested 1095 lumens at 30 sec. Since the big difference between the two, brother bought himself a TX25C2. His tested a fair amount lower than mine, 995 lumens at 30 seconds, but even there he is almost 200 lumens higher then the SC600. And these numbers are repeatable - tested them all several times with the same basic results.
The zebralight is a very sweet light with awesome flood. Has a more user friendley side clicky than the kinda hard to find button on the TX25C2. But the TX25C2’s easily out power the SC600 MKII’s and KILL it in throw.
Personally I think they are both great lights though.
$32.32 not counting wire, braid and thermal paste to build a 1000+ lumen light. I've built one with a partition board and a regular nangj105 driver, but I'll be building another one with a copper adapter ring and either a modded Qlite or reflashed nanjg105 driver.
I do not know about jmpaul’s SC600II but mine puts out 800 otf instead of the advertised 900. I still love the light though. It has a nice white tint and great flood. The ET is funner to play with but the ZL is more practical.
that host looks pretty damned good, I just built up an a8 clone pretty much the same as this build, I just used an 80+cri xm-l2, I love it to bits, good modes, still fairly convenient size, awesome tint and colour rendition, my blf a8 will be getting the same treatment soon with a couple of stacked chips and a 90cri xm-l2 on Noctigon, the runtime is the key though, its just so much more useful.
Ramping, hidden strobe, battery indicator and beacon... Can start on very low if you want, or in one of the modes, remembers the ramping you set it to. Can be set to do momentary. Have programmable modes. All the goodies! And with 3,8A+ to an XM-L2 of your choise, mounted on copper and AR coated lens.. Build cost. Around 30$
Wider spill than the Eagletac makes it great for walking outdoors. But much better throw than a Zebralight as far as I know. Can outclass a stock Eagletac in both throw, spill and output with de-domed emitter. Or just outclass it for everything close-midrange with domed emitter.
Tiny, stupid bright, cheap, sophisticated, advanced and likeable UI combined with a great beam.
End of discussion...
(yeah, its stupid hot if you run it on high with that much current, no nanny turbo to ruin the fun either, J) no retarded stickers or anything :p )
