Defnitely an Osram Emitter, i have several other Osram lights with the same emitter.
As for the original Sipik and the various clones, i have one of every variation i could find, and so far the only “real” one, and best one i have is the red one in this pic.
it cost around 9 bucks, single mode, has an EZ900 series XR-E, runs well on both AA alc. and a 14500 lithium, has a glass aspheric lens, and so far is still the brightest of them all, with the best Neutral white tint in stock form.
The others in the photo are the various clones i could find and test.
The original is found on the Sipik website here:
Mine is a glass lens and 14500’s work fine. Went from about 100 lumens[primary AA] to about 300 or 400 lumens W/ 14500 Battery. I got it off of Ebay a year ago
If there are glass aspheric lenses, I wonder if they are cut and polished or only molded. I suppose the plastic ones are molded and that plastic can be formed that accurately by molding, but I think you could tell molded from polished glass by how clear it is as a magnifying glass. One usually can tell how a drinking glass was made by looking at it.
That does look like a remote switch. The switch is in the tail cap that screws off, so it would be easy to make a remote replacement for it. People use remote switches for lights on guns and what not.
there will be NO diffrence between them…its a driver for nimh also…i have changed the led for xml2…its no sense…few lumens.forget it:) extremly cheap this one…
I have purchased 4 Sipik clones from eBay in the past. All were very low quality. Just received the Sipik I purchased from Gearbest today. It seems to be a real Sipik SK68. Well made and brighter than all my clones. It is also a bit smaller in size. And has a real Q5. Unfortunately I paid a lot of money for it. It broke the bank. I used my Gearbest points to ease the pain a bit. $2.61
