0.20V drop "self-discharge" from 3.6V to 3.4V. within 15mins.
Yes, LiFePO4 does not work the same was a LiCoO2. When you start discharging them they will drop to about 3.2 volt very fast and stay at that voltage until they are empty.
Here is a full test of a LiFePO4 cell: http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Unknown%20RCR123A%203.0V%20500mAh%20%28Blue%29%20UK.html
How are the sliders on the VP2. I stopped using my VP1 for 18650 because trying to pry back the slider and holding it in place while the cell is inserted became too much of a pain. I now mostly just use side by side SP2s.

“The slots have raised battery connections, i.e. flat top batteries can be used. The slider works very smooth and can take batteries from 30mm to 71.2mm”
Awesome review, thanks. I have been wondering about this one. I share the same idea as others in that I hope they make a 4 bay version soon.

Daggum…look how flat those discharge volts are…wow!
“VP4 sample is still being tested now, we still need a couple of months for the development.”
Oh yes, I have one of this hot charger coming up at no cost at all. Thanks Xtar!
I imagine the VP4 will be the long anticipated replacement for my i4

But will it be good enough to replace the Opus?

We can’t compare the 2 chargers since the Opus is an analyzing charger/discharger, including facility for Nimh, while the other one (VP2) is a pure Li-ion charger only, (full list of functions not yet known) for the ‘VP4’.
I agree
I can’t wait months, anybody have a Canadian source for the VP2? The shipping, Customs/Duty is killing me!!!

If there is a VP4 it will probably replace the Opus in every day use just because its silent.
Even my SP2, VP1 and various Nitecore chargers gets used before the noisy "dreamcharger".
The Opus is nice due to certain features. But for normal "everyday charging", not so nice due to fan noise.
Looking forward to get a VP2 too. :)
Thanks for the pics & very detail reviews. I like this charger with a switch to change different voltage.

Already emailed them, contrary to the website they don’t carry them and won’t be for a long time if at all…
