They are a real flashlight that uses the 18650, I ordered two of them three weeks ago (took about 12 days to arrive, shipping from China).
I bought them just because they look like the SK68 (14550), but are a little bigger.
I don’t know exactly about the one on eBay, but like koyotee said the sk98 is just the 18650 version. I am sure there are some sk68 out there that have been labeled wrong.
FastTech sells a sk98,but for some reason I can’t post the link to it.
I refuse to get caught up in the biggest ,brightest ,smallest ,cheapest type quest. If you know what the smallest is than I'd add about 15% to that as it gives the maker a bit of wiggle room .if you are always looking for the tiniest or lightest you'll run into other stupid problems not normally associated with light 4 MM longer. you don't want a light that you can't get protected batteries in do you ? or one that has oddball parts that will make fixing it impossible if you ever have a problem. the s6 or s2+ is about as small a light as i'd suggest to most people .The brass cnqgoods light is smaller but weight and lack of clip is an issue .
i'd aim for 115mm. and buy something you like the look and feel of .
EZ answer is.... if you don't have a convoy s series light .... buy almost any one of them .. great bang for your buck lights .
As much as all of these lights are pocketable and i've carried them before . i don't think I'd ever edc a 18650 light in my pocket .....not all day , everyday
I see that some flashlights have xp-g2 and some have xm-l2, which led is better?
I know that EC21 is available with coupon for 36$, F6 is also quite cheap but for others I don’t know where can I get them for lowest price. If you know, please post a link.
I can recommend the Sunwayman, I have one and it’s a very nice light. The Eagletac is also a very nice light. Were it me, I think it’d be a close run between these 2. The EagleTac would probably get my vote, comes with a belt clip AND a nice holster. The Sunwayman has a holster, but not as nice.
Tough call. Look closely at the user interface on both lights, output, and price probably last.
picked up my C20C, ok, I’d go with this one again.
I got one of the CNQG brass beauty lights in the smaller AA form factor recently and was pleasantly surprised! Nicely built, 3 levels, no blinkies and the tail clicky is pretty sweet on the size. I gave it to the lady at our local small Post Office, then promptly ordered another!
Personally I like the XP-G2 in tube lights. Much nicer than XM-L2. But most off the shelf makes don’t drive the XP-G2 very hard.
EagleTac offer a good range of emitters. Although I’m also a tint snob. And sadly they don’t offer the XP-G2 in NW only CW. They do offer the Nichia219B however, which is really nice, but lower output than the CREE’s.
I use the DQG 18650 every day, have done for over a year now, it’s nice because it fits in the little ticket pocket of my jeans and gives a lot of light
What’s not so good is I often have to service it for want of a better word, as after a few weeks it just flickers and is hard to get the right setting and isn’t waterproof as the o ring chews up, after getting through a pack of ten I bought from cnqg, I gave up on it having o rings
I have a titanium s15 a roche f6 and a few s2+
The s15 is only really used if im going out as the knurling doesn’t damage clothing and it looks smart but I don’t like the green tint though
When the DQG 18650 finally gives up, I’ll probably then carry either the roche f6 or s2+, both are bright, but I prefer the side switch and the ramping on the f6 ( though the ramping seems to have stopped working, although I got so many torches, I wonder if I only imagined it had ramping, I might have it confused with my crelant or another torch).
but I like the beam spread slightly more on the s2+
Neither are as small as the DQG 18650, but the trade of is they are 100% reliable when compared to the DQG
So if I’d known about the DQG faults I would never have bought the DQG and got use to its small size. I would certainly have gone for either the Roche f6 or the convoy s2+ with hindsight
