Totally agree.
It would make a killer host for the MT-G2, Big reflector, brass shouldered pill, one piece battery tube (finally) forward (momentary)click, looks to be really nice design and machining quality+!!! The price is too high for me! Unless I could sell the XHP50 to recover some $$$$ Or just buy it as a host?? But that will never happen……NOT JAX!
Admittedly I don’t know much about Jax, but I got the impression they’re actually pretty good at offering their lights as bare hosts.
The Z1 is available as a shell and even the lens is available separate which is quite amazing. The Mini C8 is also host only (although I have yet to get a shipping confirmation on mine).
But you don’t think this one will be coming out as a host option? That would be a shame…
I doubt it as of now, maybe down the road when the XHP50/70 frenzy dies down? Who knows? We can only HOPE! I for one would buy the (host) say if it was around $40.00 max, build it just to keep for myself? But its hard for me to justify the price, since I bought a K40M for $80.00 shipped in December, you know what I mean……Richard has the Supfire L3’s for $29.00. I’m going to try those next. But it is a very B.A. looking light!
What are the advantages of XML2-U2 XHP 50 or 70 over an XML2-U2? Clearly it is a bigger (5mx5m) led, pumps out a heap more lumens - double - with maybe shorter range like an MTG-2? Sounds just like an MTG-2 - how is it different?
Does it have a nice hotspot like an XML2-U2 can have in a bigger head - and would it transplant into a Maxtoch 2X with good results? Advantages/disadvantages? Runtimes compared with XML2-U2? At 2500 lumens would likely need new driver as well as led board? The data I can find:

Jax Hunter looks interesting though very heavy at 650gms + 2 x 26650s = getting up towards 1kg mark.
Thanks Max didn’t see that, the price is good if I wanted a XHP50. How about a Host? I don’t want to strip the emitter and driver out of it, got a box full of gut’s laying in the closet.
